In the early hours of August 13, authorities in Pattaya launched a targeted raid on a local nightlife venue as part of a broader initiative to combat illegal activities. This operation was spearheaded by Banglamung District Chief Patcharapat Sritanyanon and Police Colonel Anek Sarathongyoo, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station.

The raid is part of the 5 Free policy and the No Drugs, No Dealers campaign, initiatives led by the Deputy Prime Minister to uphold law and order. The focus of this particular operation was a Pub & Karaoke establishment located on Soi Bongkot in South Pattaya.

As officials entered the venue, they ordered the music to be silenced and the lights turned on, systematically verifying the identities of patrons. This spotlight revealed six foreign workers—five from Laos and one from Myanmar—lacking the necessary work permits to operate legally in Thailand.

In addition to addressing labour violations, authorities uncovered drug use among patrons. Tests returned positive results for nine employees and one customer, confirmed through urine analyses.

The venue’s manager, alongside the six undocumented workers and the individuals who tested positive for drugs, has been detained. They face legal proceedings as the authorities move forward with documentation procedures and rehabilitation efforts.

This operation is a component of Pattaya's ongoing mission to curtail illegalities within its vibrant nightlife scene, ensuring compliance with Thailand's anti-drug and employment laws. The city's law enforcement has been consistently active, with recent raids reflecting a staunch commitment to these regulatory frameworks.

The campaign underscores Pattaya’s dedication to maintaining order and safety, enhancing the city’s reputation as a safe destination for both locals and tourists. This latest crackdown is an affirmation of the city’s relentless efforts to uphold national standards and improve community welfare.

Residents and visitors alike are urged to support these initiatives, contributing to a safer, more secure environment. The enforcement of regulations is seen not only as a legal responsibility but as a vital component of community integrity and international reputation.

In a city known for its bustling nightlife, such operations serve as a clear message: illegal activities will not be tolerated, and efforts to uphold the law will continue unabated. The partnership between local authorities and district officials remains strong as they work together to foster a safer and more regulated Pattaya.
