A housewarming party turned into a scene of horror on the night of 13 August when a man shot his cousin dead in front of shocked family members and guests.

Police said the incident occurred at a home in Moo 2, Chai Nat Municipality, during a celebration streamed live on Facebook. Footage showed 42-year-old Mr. Mana dancing and drinking with friends at a Chinese-style banquet table before 34-year-old Mr. Natthawut approached and opened fire with a .357 revolver, hitting him three times.

Friends rushed the victim to Ruampat Chai Nat Hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

Provincial Police Commander Pol Maj Gen Surawut Saengrungreung, along with senior officers, inspected the scene. Workers from the catering company were packing up as grieving relatives and guests remained in shock.

Witnesses told police the two men were cousins and had a heated altercation before the shooting. Mr. Natthawut allegedly punched the victim and brandished a gun. Friends of the victim tried to restrain him, but he broke free and fired multiple shots, causing Mr. Mana to collapse.

The suspect fled the scene. Police search teams later raided his home and the residence of a friend, but he was not found. Authorities believe he is still in the province and expect to arrest him soon.
