Pro-asylum judge let migrant with knife and drug offenses stay in the UK

A judge who allowed a migrant with convictions for drug and knife offences to stay in Britain was formerly an executive on the board of a pro-asylum charity. French-born migrant Christian Quadjovie, 26, had racked up drug offences, as well as being caught carrying a knife, and sexually assaulting a girl under 13 when he was 10 years old.

Last year his case arguing against deportation was first heard by Judge Fiona Beach who went on to grant him a reprieve from being kicked out of Britain, despite Quadjovie having spent 963 days behind bars since arriving in the UK. The decision by Judge Beach has since been overturned after Home Office lawyers said the judgement was "made against the weight of evidence".

Judge Beach was an ex-director of Asylum Aid, which states on its website that "we help the people that others won’t". The charity represents migrants for free behalf of the Bail for Immigration Detainees charity.
