Teflon is perfectly safe when operated at 200 C, which is what the majority of air fryers are governed to.

You only copied part of my post.   I qualified it by adding PFOA and PTFE statement. 

 

However, I take your point.  This is probably more accurate.  And lists certain countries etc involved in their ban/ restriction of chemicals involved in the process of manufacture.

Well, if you're in such dire straits financially that you have to a buy an airfryer to save on your electricity bill it could make all the difference.

 

Seems a strange thing to buy though, you can't cook a long list of foods in it. And it's too small too cook a pizza or a chicken. Unless you cut it all up in tiny pieces first to fit it in your tiny oven.

 

Kind of extra work, and a bit stupid isn't it?

I got thinking about the Air Fryer because I watched this video. He cooks his meatballs in the air fryer.

And there is a boatload of fat in his cheese sauce - butter, cream cheese, heavy cream ...

 

There's a Youtube channel called "Steak & Butter Gal". It's an Asian girl. I think she eats an entire stick of butter a day.

Well, oven takes a bit of time to heat up.

But valid points. I'll put some more thought into it before getting one. 

And also look into the safety. Thanks for pointing it out.

Well, good cooking takes time. You prep the food and pre-heat the oven. It's good mental training. 

 

I'd hate to have to work with such a small device. Hardly anything fits. And from what  I hear the cleaning is a real nightmare.

Yep .... just a mini convection oven, but still handy for 1 or 2 person households.

 

The ones with a large glass bowl and the heater/fan in the lid are the best, can get more in them, and can see what's going on inside.  Great for reheating last nights pizza 🙂

There are some higher end air fryers with full stainless interiors/baskets etc.   I’ve used the Cuisinart TOA-70 and have even cooked a 2kg tenderloin in it quite nicely.  I bought it for a guy who used to be a Chef in New Orleans and he was pretty impressed with it.  Unfortunately this was back in the US and the prices are overinflated for those models in Thailand.

BMI - 24   BP - 118/70  Pulse - 65  as of Saturday.  I've maintained this average for the past five years.

I doubt I hit my Keto macros very often, but the fats certainly always do outweigh the proteins, and the carbs tend to come from green vegetables of some sort.

Not many. I have a busted bicep muscle that stops me from rock climbing too. Did it about 10 years ago when I was in my 60's. Doc said not to bother fixing it so long as I don't put too much strain on what's left.

What's your cholesterol levels? or doesn't it matter once you switch to keto?

Been using them for years, from crap no names to big Ninja Foodis with pressure cooker, sauté option etc. The latter too expensive here. Someone said what’s the point if you have an oven? Well, if you want a quick jacket potato, eg, you’ll do it in 10m after a blast in microwave. Bake bread in them, air fry chicken legs, chips... coat with oil first or spray. Harmful substances? Lol. You’ll get sicker simply by walking outside or smoking your cancer stick. But yes, avoid the no name Chinese tat.

So long as the HDL levels are high and the LDL levels low, it really doesn't seem to matter. Two doctors whose opinions I tend to trust have told me the same thing. So long as my blood pressure and heart function remain normal, I can continue with this lifestyle. I hope they are right... I began eating this way six and a half years ago, and so far, so good. I've only got about another 10 years if I'm lucky, and this diet makes my body feel much better overall. Joint pain reduced, body inflammation reduced, more energy, alert, never feel bloated after meals. and the biggest advantage... no more Pre-Diabetes.

I use one of those halogen ovens, glass bowl with heating element and controls in the lid. No plastic coatings to worry about, easy to clean and does the same thing.

 

Mind you, I am sure that I saw somethingabout halogen bulbs being phased out or banned a while back, plenty available on Lazada.

 

Never tried to use one whilst swimming underwater though!

My weight came off the easiest and I stayed super slim when I did Keto.

But then a bunch of influencers were warning that long-term Keto is unhealthy, so now I'm CONFUSED. 

I ain't giving advice, but "The Sugar Diet" is a craze recently and it seems suspicious to me.
