On my last trip to the states I brought back a few thousand dollars in cash...USD

today I went to exchange for Thai Baht and was told that 6 of the $100. bills were too old.....They look exactly the same as the new bills except the number !00 on the bottom right and a bell are gold.

I tried 4 different exchange booths and bkk bank...

So....anyone going to the States anytime...want to buy or trade the 6 I have for newer bills????   32.5 to 1.  So 3,250 per.

Or maybe you want a 100 dollar bill for a souvenir??

Can meet at or near On Nut BTS.

Try These Alternatives

Siam Exchange (Phayathai Road, Bangkok): Known for accepting older bills if they’re clean and undamaged A.

SuperRich Thailand: Some branches are more flexible than banks, though it varies by location.

Airport exchange counters: Surprisingly, some travelers report success at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang, especially with booths that cater to tourists.

Gold shops or jewelry stores: In some cases, they’ll buy USD at competitive rates, especially in provincial cities.

Do you have a Thai bank account? They will accept older notes. I've found SCB on 2nd road in Pattaya the most relaxed bank regarding condition of notes.

The key issue is usually whether the bill has the newer security features introduced in the 2013 redesign, including:

•  A blue 3D security ribbon woven into the paper

•  A color-shifting bell in the inkwell

•  Larger gold “100” on the back

I tried Bangkok bank near Nana bts...the lady at the exchange counter said "no way" and told me to go back to USA, use them there.

There are a couple of mobile phone vendors that also do foreign exchange on the soi that links Sukhumvit soi 5 with so1 3/1 in the Arab quarter. The soi is just a little further up from Guliver's and the outlets are about 40 or 50 metres in to the soi, near soi 5.. They'll exchange USD of any vintage, although the rates are a bit lower for older / damaged banknotes.
