@ThreeCardMonte Why are you trying so hard? Who are you trying to impress? I do exactly the opposite. Then I know they are not interested in my money. You seem to want to advertise it. Look at me, look at me... No one here is impressed. 😊 Somehow you managed to get "Lefty" into a Sunglasses thread. Weird. You must be a bundle of fun for any companion 😊 I guess we understand why you need to lean so heavily on the money side of things. People with good characters can get on with anyone, regardless of money or status.

Mindset has a lot to do with success.

When you dress well and refuse to be a grungy guy, you tend to succeed more because you feel like you can afford to not be a poor expat. Ditto with the company you keep.

That's why a lot of guys let themselves go over here. They move into a skint area because the cheap rooms sound cool, hang around a lot of poor local people, and actually end up that way, even if they had resources when they arrived. Dressing sharply is a way of changing that environment and mindset.

@ThreeCardMonte Are you suggesting that I should determine someone's political affiliation by their choice of pants?

I can tell you that I don't spend even a single second of my life wondering whether someone is a 'lefty' or not, let alone any attempt to associate them with a particular style of dress.

That seems to be a strange way to live. Dare I say it...you seem to have a mental issue. A weird kind of obsession that steeps into your real life. I imagined that it was just a forum persona, but it seems that you have real issues. Seek help, unless you are too old to change. That's not a healthy way to live.

@Mark1969 That what you have written is just purely nonsensical. Perhaps you would like to believe it, but in reality it is just nonsense.

What kind of success is it to which you refer? Success in relationships? I don't EVER pay my girls. Not ever. Is that success or is having to pay them, success?

Wasn't it you who was crying about your neighbour running his airconditioner all day? What kind of place do you live in where someone else's airconditioning unit can bother you? Success?

Sorry, but your idea of success is just superficial nonsense. I don't dress to impress because I don't want the attention.

I love that I can have a perfect life without needing to spend much and instead can focus on my relationships.

That's why I don't need to pay. Depth, not superficiality.

As long as you believe that, that is all that matters.

Exactly the same for a person with an opposite view.

Coincidentally, I also have a perfect life  -  and I pay my girls.

@hotandsticky No...you don't have a perfect life....if you are having to pay. That lasts for a long as you keep paying.

It's not just what I believe, I am living it.

Both on the side of people assuming that I have money by outward appearances and me dressing down so as to not attract attention.

I do not bother to press myself down under the weight of delusions. There's a big difference with someone walking alongside because of you, rather than the stipend that you proffer.

You’re either just a lost soul or broke or both.

My original posts explained all my reasons.

You chose not to accept what I posted based on your own financial standing.  Your problem, not mine.

If you don’t believe what I post, that’s your prerogative.  I could care less as stated in my original posts.  My post is exactly that.  My post.

Now, to your reply.

1.  You never pay for girls.  Good for you.  While I don’t believe you.  I know you’re not a Brad Pitt look alike.  You’re a Cheap Charlie.  Disturbing, but that’s my opinion.  You do what you want.

2.  Neighbors A/C.  No.  Not me.  I’m spending the summer in San Diego at my U.S. residence.  Yes, I can afford to maintain two residences.  Actually THREE.  I take care of the GF house.  I can see the pearl clutching as I type on my IPhone.

Meanwhile, you pay them nothing according to you.  Your in depth meaningful conversations takes care of all of their needs.

You make them pay for their dinner and drinks when going out?  If you do, you’re a jerk.  Not an insult, a fact.

3.  The rest of your post is just envious nonsense.  I live life on my terms and owe you or anyone else any explanation but I chose to, to make my point.

4.  All of your concerns were answered in my original posts but you chose to ignore.

Don’t waste my time anymore with your same repetitive bullshi-.

Oh! Look at you being all pretentious.

I don't pay them to walk !!.....and it is not a stipend, more on a transaction by transaction basis.

....and, believe me, my life is perfect.

OP - don't panic. Thais are just envious because you possess a nose that provides sufficient support to wear a pair of sunglasses. :coffee1:

You mean its that big ,he can smell a Sunday roast on a Thursday

I wear progressive lens glasses that have a photochromatic coating..... so yeah I wear "sunglasses".

@ThreeCardMonte

Again 😊 You feel the need to tell everyone on an anonymous forum about what you have 😊

You have no idea of my financial standing and I have no wont to share that with you nor anyone else here.

It's you who seems to have a problem with believing in what I post. I haven't written anything about not believing you. On the contrary...if someone shows you what they are...believe them. I believe you.

I didn't write anything about your neighbour's AC unit. You seem to be getting flustered and confused.

A friend of mine has repeatedly invited me to stay at their place in San Diego. Maybe I'll take them up on it one day.

Sometimes I pay, sometimes they pay. My girls have their own source of money, so don't need mine. Either way, none of us care about it.

Not envious, ever. I'm happy with what I have.

Everything I wrote about you earlier still stands...in spades.

@hotandsticky Not pretentious. I just prefer to not try to fool myself. The way to be sure is to not involve money in the equation.

I stand by everything I have written.

1.  I’ll post what I want.  Not what YOU think I should post.

2.  If your questions were not answered by reading my original posts.  Read again.  Eventually it might sink in over time.

3.  Everything I posted about you still stands.

Don’t like it?  Great!  Don’t like

Standing by everything you write on an anonymous forum doesn't carry much weight.

@ThreeCardMonte I'm not concerned with like or don't like. I'm not the one who has to live with you. Personally I think it's more than sad that you feel the need to tell people here what you have, in order to feel validated. Obviously you would feel naked and inadequate without them.

I don't define myself by those things.

I understand your attempts at self-justification.

Not necessary. My life suits me and I have to presume that yours suits you..............carry on. just don't try and claim any moral high ground - because HAT would be pretentious.

Your reading comprehension is miserable.

You keep spouting off on issues that were answered on my original post.

You try to glamorize being a Cheap Charlie but we all see through your true identity.

Cheap, Broke Farang Loser in Thailand.

And not very bright.  Do you know how to reply to someone directly?  Seeing how you can’t read my original post that certainly makes sense.

Are you suggesting that I should determine someone's political affiliation by their choice of pants”

Quote me where I said that.  That’s right.  You can’t.

I know it’s hard but stick with what I posted.  Not what you think I posted.

Is that too difficult for you?  Can’t be anymore difficult than reading my original posts.

The only person in this banter I see with mental issues are you.  Don’t feel left out.  Many more broke farangs in Thailand share the same condition as you.

Not going to work as you are experiencing.

Yes make you wonder about " accidentally smashed" sunglasses.

If 3 cardman walks around in public acting like he does here on AN  his glasses will get smashed!

Of course he is a really tough guy and come back with some other nonsense for us to understand how sad and lonely he really is.

In my eyes he is just a troll, never funny but always trying to infuriate people.

In general i am a peaceful person and i laugh at him ,not sure if he would need to buy new glasses if we should happen to meet.

Of course he is a gun touting overweight mm with no money at all.

Back to you shorthand!

@hotandsticky 'Moral high ground' comes from your own imagination. So it's your own mind that irks you. I simply told of my choices and why. I choose to not exploit others nor to belittle myself in doing so.

I don't feel the need to display superficial trappings of wealth in order to coerce or impress.

@ThreeCardMonte I read your post and understood that you see yourself as a 'have' and that you imagine that 'Trump hating leftists' are scruffy.

Friends of mine run reasonably successful concerns, but you'd have no idea when looking at them. Most certainly more wealthy than yourself.

Driving around in small cars and behaving like normal people...because they are normal respectful people. You on the other hand...

It's not about money is it? It's your character. That's why you over emphasise money. It's due to knowing you are inadequate in other areas.

I got so tired of reading the stupid bickering on this thread that I unfollowed.

Thanks for letting us know @Mark1969, as you were the only reason why we were all here. I guess we can all leave now. 😊

Thats nice.

Too bad you are incapable of learning anything from your friends.

@ThreeCardMonte At least I have friends. Maybe they are friends because I recognised their humility.

On that note, your friends must be truly obnoxious...if you have any at all.
