How about looking into direct flights from Manchester UK to BKK.

Unlikely, but if you want a very, very nice non-stop service, I can recommend Singapore Airlines non-stop SIN-MAN using A350's. MAN is the stopover on their SIN-IAH (Houston, TX) route and a couple of times when pax loads have been light, the fares have been around 500 quid for a one-way. They also use the A350 to service BKK and on both sectors, I had all 3 seats to myself.

How you get to/from Singapore is up to you.

When?

They've upgraded all the A320 interiors since they ditched Thai Smile, more legroom and proper 2+2 Premium seating, not just 3+3 Coach seating with the middle seat blocked that Thai Smile offered. And who cares what or how they get served on a 45-90 minute flight, for goodness sakes?

When I have to pay premium I expect premium!

Premium on Thai Smile was little more than tarted-up Coach with food served on a tray. Premium on Thai domestic is proper Premium.

Bring your own sandwiches if you must.

Attracting quality tourists that don't spend money in Thailand I see.

Chasing the UK on the downhill section of living standards!

No word of direct LAX-BKK flights.

Or New York JFK

lets see the Pics when it arrives from India in BKK, and the Army of cleaners to clean what the Animals left. Id suggest Thai use there old fleet for these people.

Using the highest density seating for long haul is becoming more and more common with all carriers, so get used to it or start paying extra for more premium seats.

I used to fly Thai quite a lot and liked the service, but they dropped LAX altogether.

Seatguru lists Thai planes at 18"s for economy.

Many other airlines are 17".

No idea of size as in inches mainly because I spent most of the wrenched flight stood up🤔

Wonder when they will re-introduce Brisbane direct flights again……

They have been flying to Perth nonstop for about 1 year now.

That's been done to death already. It is STILL as uneconomical and unviable as it was when they stopped doing it. But, if you still have a hankering for sitting in American-branded tin for the whole 17+ hours, I believe United will be servicing Bangkok from the US west coast, via a stopover in Hong Kong.

Since this latest press release from Thai Air?

My primary carrier, JAL already does what you explained with a short layover in Narita.

19 hours going over.  17 return to the USA, courtesy of the jet stream.

Anout 7 hours?  Consider yourself fortunate.

An advantage for living on the other side of the world.

Checked economy class to Melbourne return in December, B.41,000, JetStar B. 22,000 with the lot,

30 k luggage, good seats, food and no change of itinerary penalty, go figure why.

I flew last month and found the width OK.

Thanks for that short slim Jim 🤔

I can usually find cheaper flights with better service from other international carriers on long haul flights than THAI can provide.

Don't know where to post this so posted this here. How do I get my free flight from Swampy to Udon Thani on Thai Airways as i will be flying from the UK to BKK in November.
