Education visa for a child - Chaengwatthana

Featured Replies

We need to do an extension for a child on education visa at a major international school (we, parents, are on LTR but school forced us to get ED visa for child).

Can anyone give recent experience of how long this takes at CW? We contacted an agent but were quoted 10k baht fee (plus visa cost) and the child still needs to be brought to immigration - we had wanted to avoid him going there and missing a day of school.

We were considering going just after lunch so our child only misses half a day. Any recent experience on whether we would be likely to finish the same day? We would do almost anything to avoid going in person (especially our child), but this doesn't seem possible, so we are looking to minimize the pain. Thanks for any recent (direct) experience.

@brewsterbudgen Think this guy did this a CW in recent times.

Hopefully can advise.

Not sure my experience will be much help.  We applied for our child's Ed visa in June and still don't have it.  Not Chaengwattana though, and also maybe a different situation.  My son has an Extension as my dependant, and we're trying to switch it to his own Ed visa.  I've ended up using an agent as was getting nowhere.  The current position is we're waiting for 'permission' from the Dept of Education in Bangkok...

When they're ready to issue it, I'm told my son will have to be present.
