In a dramatic turn of events today in Pattaya, a foreign national has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a motorbike. The incident unfolded on Soi 16, just off the bustling Walking Street, a hotspot for nightlife. Though the man's identity and nationality remain undisclosed, witnesses claim he seemed to be under the influence of drugs at the time.

It all began on the morning of 28 August, when the motorcycle owner noticed his vehicle had vanished. Swiftly alerting nearby motorcycle taxi drivers, the owner set off a chain reaction of rapid response. The drivers, familiar with Pattaya's intricate lanes, were quick to pursue the suspect through the throngs of visitors.

Their efforts were rewarded near the old pier at Walking Street’s entrance, where they apprehended the accused. He was held until local municipal officers and patrol police arrived from Pattaya City Police Station.

Local authorities commended the spirited response from the community. "The vigilance and bravery of the motorcycle taxi drivers and concerned citizens made all the difference," stated a spokesperson. "Their actions help maintain safety in an area drawing thousands of visitors daily."

The suspect has since been handed over to the police for questioning, and investigations are ongoing. Officers are currently verifying his identity and considering drug testing, given reports of intoxication during the theft.

This incident underscores the importance of local cooperation in maintaining security, particularly in Walking Street, a known target for petty crime. Police highlighted that community vigilance is crucial in crime prevention efforts.

Fortunately, the motorcycle has been returned to its owner. The foreign suspect, however, now faces charges of theft, with additional charges potentially related to drug offences.

This event follows a similar case just yesterday, where a 37-year-old farmer in Bang Lamung's Huay Yai district reported a theft. A newly hired worker disappeared with her motorcycle and cash shortly after beginning employment, emphasising the need for continued awareness and caution.

As investigations proceed, Pattaya’s community stands united in their resolve to combat crime, demonstrating the vital role of ordinary citizens in maintaining peace and security.

Shoeless Joe ?

I'm pretty sure that is why the Motorbike Taxi's are supported.

If you want to know anything just ask the Motorbike Taxi's.

Always wondered if they are who the Police go to when they want

to know about something in that area.

Lucky he didn't find out what Thai's think of people who steal from them.
