Bangkok bank notice

Featured Replies

I saw on different  social media this photo/notice , but I didn't see anyone receiving the same notification from a bank other than Bangkok Bank. So, the question is: Has anyone else received a similar notification from a different bank, or is this whole mess caused solely by Bangkok Bank? Thanks.

I'm sure glad I moved to k-bank a year or two ago. I saw the writing on the wall.

As of late, dealing with Thai banks has become increasingly difficult telling you that they don't want your business' literally.

Unfortunately that article is over 2 months old and it says that you can still take money out from a frozen account..........

My understanding is that is not the case from accounts stories on here?

According to the article you can........Visit a Bank Branch: You can withdraw money in person at a Bangkok Bank branch, even if your account is frozen. Bring your passport, visa, and proof of address (like a rental contract, utility bill, or residence certificate)Bring All Documents: Show a long-term visa (retirement, work, or elite), a marriage certificate to a Thai national, or proof of property ownership. These prove you meet the bank’s rules. Reddit users (r/Thailand) reported success with extra documents like a driver’s license or residence certificate.Try Different Branches: Branch policies differ. Some foreigners opened accounts at Bluport in Hua Hin but were rejected elsewhere, as noted in a Reddit discussion. If one branch can’t help, try tourist-friendly areas like Pattaya, Phuket, or Chiang Mai.................I'm guessing some might have had trouble not trying other banks. Here it seems some people at banks don't fully understand the updated rules on things, while others do. I've seen different stories from different tellers on other matters.

Have you read @Hellfire 's thread........

This is why I questioned the article - I read it all thanks you didn't need to post bits of it.

Why?...what writing on the wall?  Something not quite right about your Bangkok Bank account?

No problem from BBL with my account.

Nonsense.  Literally

They stopped allowing counter withdrawals from a foreign ATM. And before that they were insisting the ATM cards needed to be embossed. Yes, writing on the wall...
