A motorcyclist was killed instantly in a collision involving a pickup truck and a car on Highway 347, which runs from Pathum Thani to Bang Pa-in. The incident occurred at around 19:00 on 31 August, near the entrance to Wat Pak Kran in Pak Kran Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Pleng Phankaew, Deputy Chief Investigator at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station, confirmed that emergency services responded promptly. Medical personnel from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, together with members of the Ayutthaya Ruam Jai Rescue Foundation, attended the scene.

The victim, identified only as Mr. Khanaun 38, was found in the middle of the road with severe head injuries and multiple fractures. His Honda Wave motorbike, was heavily damaged, with debris scattered across the road.

A Toyota Yaris Cross, driven by Mr. Naphat 26, was also damaged on the front-right side. Mr. Naphat told police that he had been travelling to Ang Thong Province when the motorcyclist suddenly swerved from a side street into the right-hand lane, colliding with a pickup truck ahead of him. Despite attempting to brake, he was unable to avoid running over the fallen motorcyclist.

Approximately 100 metres from the scene, a Toyota pickup truck, registration from Suphan Buri, driven by Mr. Phanom 59, sustained damage to the front-left side and left front tyre. Mr. Phanom reported that the motorcyclist had suddenly changed lanes from the left-hand side, leaving him no time to stop.

Police have recorded evidence and taken both drivers in for questioning. Witnesses are being sought to clarify the circumstances of the crash.

The victim’s body was transported by the Ayutthaya Ruam Jai Rescue Foundation to the Institute of Forensic Science in Pathum Thani.
