Taliban call for help after deadly Afghanistan earthquake

Taliban call for foreign help after deadly Afghanistan earthquake. Here’s what we know

Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers have called for international help after a huge earthquake killed hundreds of people and leveled entire villages, piling further misery on the war-ravaged country that was already grappling with food shortages and cuts to foreign aid.

At least 1,124 people were killed and 3,251 others were injured after the 6.0-magnitude quake struck towns and villages close to the Pakistan border on Sunday, causing strong aftershocks in Kabul, the Afghan Red Crescent Society reported on Tuesday.

Heavy rain, landslides and damaged roads have made it difficult for relief teams to access the remote mountainous areas hit hardest by the quake.

Meanwhile, recent US aid cuts have crunched relief efforts in the country, which has been contending with shrinking global aid since the Taliban seized control in 2021, imposing harsh rules and punishments on the nation’s 43 million people.

Saudi Arabia, U.A,E , Dubai , Londonistan and other Muslim Countries should step up to the plate and provide aid

  • The EU may be as unwelcome as any other westerners.     No they are not ordinary people. They are a violent, primitive and barbaric  society. Women have no rights. Children are abused

  • No help needed it's all the will of Allah apparently, and he needs to be obeyed, or else. Let them get on with it, they would not be helping anywhere else, unless it was a hardline muslim country.

I think we should help these poor people. They’re just ordinary people, like us, whether we like it or not.

Will the U.S. actually step in? That’s up for debate, isn’t it? And if they do, there’ll definitely be strict conditions.

But still, we should help. Maybe it could even ease relations with the Taliban. I don’t know.

I feel like America should do it as kind of an olive-branch thing. Honestly, both sides are guilty, in my opinion.

Israel has a lot of food ready to go into Gaza but they want to starve them instead. Will they send some over as they're already packaged or do they want to starve all Muslims/non-Jews?

I think so too...    We should send a our humanitarian efforts with aid-workers...  Will the Talaban allow females aid workers in and force them to wear the chadari ??...

Israel has a lot of food boxed and ready to enter Gaza, but Hamas would rather keep it stuck at the border. Feeding their own people isn’t the priority - starving them is more useful for the propaganda war.

(there I rewrote it for you).

Londonistan?

Get the help you need.

When do you expect that the people in Gaza will begin starving to death ?

They've been starving to death for nearly 2 years now

Well the UN seems to eyes that glaze over when the Talebs come calling.

Something to do with some Buddha  statues that got bombed despite a  UN special envoy  pleading for them to be spared.

Powerful stuff this Karma.

Not mush chance, muslims don't care about each other and have killed more fellow muslims than non muslims in the past 20 years.

The people wanted the taliban, they got the taliban.

They wanted them? You do realise they weren't elected don't you? They seized power in a lightning offensive just as soon as your country had finished bombing the hell out of them and decided to run away and leave them defenseless

What a nasty sick thing to say, really.

No they are not ordinary people. They are a violent, primitive and barbaric  society. Women have no rights. Children are abused sexually, and physically with impunity. Animal cruelty is a sport. The Afghanistan policy is hostile to everything the western nations represent and uphold.

The USA should not step in nor become involved.  Let China, Russia and India  assist. South Africa, Turkey, Brazil and iran can help too. Chinna and Russia said they can replace the USA. Now is an opportunity for them to show their leadership.

Relations with the Taliban cannot be eased for the simple reason that the Taliban espouse  policies that are contrary to everything   the USA people believe in.

What guilt? The USA is guilty of nothing that requires it to return to Afghanistan or to offer support to a nation that is hostile to the USA. The Taliban will not change their position no matter how much money the USA provides. The arab world has  lots of money to spend on supporting  terrorists and building lavish palaces and running entertainment events. Let them  spend on their muslim friends. The USA has no moral responsibility to save the Afghanis. No western nation does.

While the US was in Afghanistan, women were attending schools.  Maybe you people from the EU can step up and kick out the Taliban.

I have friends who served in Afghanistan.   It's a lost cause.

Agreed. No matter how good the intentions, only the Afghanis can help themselves.

A country of 42M people did basically nothing, and let them, the taliban take over, not once, but twice.  Did nothing to help NATO forces keep the taliban from taking power.

Don't blame the USA, because they tried the longest to help the Afghans.  Simply leaving last, after all the others NATO forces realized, 'screw up, you're on your own, if not wanting to help'.

Doing nothing, sounds like they wanted them in power.  Live with that choice.

You don't kill 3621 people trying to help your citizens and then ask the same people, the govts of those families for help.   That's just rude.  Especially as you were probably (IMHO) hunting down any Yanks and killing them that didn't leave in 2021.

So I'll assume you will be sending some money to help these people, or are you just a hypocrite.   No need to answer, pretty sure I can guess the answer.

The might of the U.S. military couldn’t stop the Taliban.

So let’s blame Afghan civilians.

Typical, the world has asked the Taliban to change their barbaric ways, to protect the woman, allow them freedom and education but they ignore our requests.

Now they ask us for help, which we will send.

The Taliban will laugh at us infidels, knowing we will help them.

The world is doomed, we will always give in to these savages.

I think you mean NATO forces.  The world needs to stop relying on the USA, as they have enough of their own problems.   USA can't win, as when we do things to win conflicts you complain, when we leave, you complain.   Japan & Vietnam are fine example, as still criticized for dropping nukes on JP.   15 ys in Nam was long enough playing nice, start bombing N. Vietnam,  end coming soon and get criticized, so Nixon stopped it and left.  Same same, over & over.

You want to win a war, you annihilate your enemy, break the will of the people to continue fighting and that usually means the citizens helping and supporting them.  Or you'll lose your own trying to fight what you can't see.  Israel is having that problem in Gaza, and now they are the bad people, after being attacked and killed 7 Oct.  Boo hoo hoo.

Nobody in the country knew where the taliban were hiding ... yea right.   And few joined the Afghan force, being trained by NATO forces to help.   42M citizens, and assuming 25-30M were adults, let the bullies take over every village, town, city.   Let that sink in.

Allah helps those that help themselves.   Must be the will of Allah ...

.... Allah is great

Would never happen in the USA, people would eventually stand up to the terrorist.  People couldn't even deal drugs in my hometown neighborhood, we wouldn't allow them.  We didn't need PoPo's help, we told them to leave.

Y'all really think any aid will reach the people that need it.   USA use to send aid, even after we left, but most didn't reach those in need.

From Ms Google ...

So you hypocrites ... don't forget to contribute to the aid funds, since you want to help :cheesy:

You believe there’s nobody doing drugs in your neighborhood?

1 minute ago, Chomper Higgot said:

That will take this way off topic.  Didn't state doing, stated dealing.  Meaning selling to people, kids and influencing people to start doing drugs, as in non adults.  That was in early 70's, don't know what the situation is now.  But we kept the dealers out and away from our neighborhood.

Might want to start a thread on that topic, as way off topic here.

These 10 people alone should be able to afford to help anyone needing assistance and or organize all the help needed.  Do they really need outside help.   Take care of your own.

Allah helps those that help themselves.
