People’s Party Endorses Anutin as 32nd PM

Featured Replies

I’m guessing by this time next year we’ll all know how it plays out. It may be the catalyst for change or it may be a gift for Anutin to weave his web to establish and consolidate his position of power. Time will tell. PP has tossed the coin now let’s see how it falls. Fingers crossed. Interesting times.

We will know in 4-6 months as Anutin has signed an MOU agreeing to call elections and new constitution work after 4 months.

That would be Anutin.......

Hope they’ve got time to extend the MotoGP contract. It expires next year and Thaksin didn’t want to extend it because the track and kudos belong to Newin and they are not friendly

He was right about the masks though.

Back when a lot of farang were Pooh Poohing the idea is when he was trying to give them out. Later on masks became an integral part of fighting covid.

Really?🙃🙃

he might be an <deleted> but he can bring stability to the country before the upcoming elections, he will be temporary only

So what is a election by the people for to generate income to business that make all the banners, hire trucks to drive around blairing their loud speakers blocking traffic, after give jobs to those to remove all the road signs🤑

They elected a Harvard grad who can't even understand why he own stock that was worthless, then they selected another Ivy league grad who was Thaksin crony he made one wrong move removed by Thaksin daughter who let daddy tell her what to do and also slip up.

Now back to many deal, reshaping another constitution picking a person who can smack their lips to all parties.

It's let's make a deal government!🤑

Hates farangs the most, that could very well be Thaksin, who is just not as blunt about it as Anutin.

Thaksin and Co quadruple the visa fees.

I thought the Thai Constitution states that an Acting Prime Minister does not have the Authority to Dissolve Parliament?

I think you are very close to the truth there.

Far too much money coming in from that source to change it.

Is he really anti Farrang ? Or was it Thailands then health minister just trying to take the heat off of China and the hate towards them concerning Convid? I mean he’s as corrupt as any Thai official and I suspect saying it’s the “dirty” westerners fault for not wearing masks in their sleep and the shower is causing the spread, def got him some major backing from the CCP

My university roommate majored in psychology, and almost 60 years ago his thesis proposed an interesting concept in management: That people are promoted in an organization until they reach a position where they underperform, at which point they are no longer promoted. So his idea was that they should be promoted anyway as in a higher position they might outperform! Following this line of thinking, perhaps Anutin as PM might perform better than he did in his previous job as Health Minister.

He will have to find more appropriate clothes in his wardrobe!

During Covid he wore Medical clothing.

During the mini war between Myanmar and Thailand he wore army clothes like a General.

Now he is PM he should get another wardrobe full of Armani suits.

Yet another PM selected by the politicians rather than the people.

Still, the Shin family are out again, so perhaps that is a good thing.

Expect some kind of reaction from Thaksin about this. He knows his grip over the country is diminishing rapidly and will make more and more extreme proposals to retain power for him and his clan. This is the ideal time for him to be removed from Thai politics for good.

Apparently he cannot, as we have seen.

Also, I didn't write the news article - I quoted it.

I think that Anutin was simply riding the populist " hate farangs " card to get the sympathy of the Thai People ...

Than he might or might not hate farangs , for real , but it doesn't change much the actual state of things .

He has far more bigger issues to take care about , starting with Thailands Economy and all the OECD - CRS - AEOI bank bs wich they decided to partner with .

The People’s Party has announced its support for Anutin Charnvirakul to become the 32nd Prime Minister of Thailand. The decision comes with specific conditions, including the dissolution of parliament and constitutional amendments. Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, a prominent figure in the party, made the announcement earlier today.

The People's Party, led by Natthaphong, emphasised the importance of ensuring no external candidate could assume the role of prime minister. The party fears that a lack of majority support could lead to an outsider taking charge. Over the past five days, negotiations with the Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai parties have reached a detailed understanding.

The stipulations laid out by the People’s Party are clear. Firstly, the new Prime Minister must dissolve parliament within four months after a policy presentation to hold fresh elections. Secondly, if the Constitutional Court decides a referendum is needed for constitutional drafting, the new Cabinet must proceed swiftly, ensuring a public vote for changes and establishing an elected Constituent Assembly.

Should the court rule that a referendum is unnecessary, the coalition parties must rapidly push constitutional amendments through parliament. The goal is to finalise a new constitution with an elected assembly during the current parliamentary term, according to Matichon Online.

To guarantee the dissolution of parliament, the Bhumjaithai Party is asked not to take any actions that would consolidate a majority government. The People’s Party insists on retaining its opposition status, carrying out comprehensive scrutiny of the new government's operations. Members of their party will refrain from joining the Cabinet.

The People’s Party’s decision will take effect once the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party signs the agreement publicly. This move could potentially reshape the political landscape, emphasising transparency and reform while steering clear of a contentious majority government. The focus now shifts to how Anutin and his party respond to these conditions, as Thailand watches closely.

Coincidentally, just before the PM vote and his court verdict.

Yes, that's coming up on the 09 Sept

Why on earth would he need to go to Singapore for a medical check up when the medical facilities at the police Hospital are 2nd to none?

UPDATE: He has reportedly been let go and is said to be in Singapore for two days for a “medical check” before he’d “return”.
