As Jordan Peterson points out, we need something TO DO. We need to be engaged in something. That's why you don't see Donald Trump retiring, even with billions.    So 300 million is

  • I would give it to elon in exchange for living on another planet

  • So the private jet - 60 million, the yacht - 40 million, real estate portfolio 50 million, helicopter 10 million.   So that's 160 million gone already.    A mere 240 million left.

You could literally do that.

Sean Coombs had contracts with women in place. He'd pay their 10000 USD rent over years, in exchange for their sexual services.

I would probably set up a stud farm with Arab thorough bred horses from El Zahraa, the best of the best.

Most likely in Colorado, Montana or Wyoming on an 87 acre ranch. Or possibly in Spain.

Just for fun.

I'm too old & lazy to do anything, except spend it.  Play nomadic tourist at high end resorts, while driving the fanciest RV (hopefully BEV 🙄) around.  Small yacht, for the Caribbean, during non hurricane season.

Key West ... here I come, or own / lease small private island.  Maybe Jonny Depp will rent me a bungalow at his.

Yes, I forgot we'd have to buy a private island. Like Johnny Depp. That''ll make quite a dent in the finances.

Between 15 to 75 milllion. Oh dear.

Depp was actually a pro, he spent 2 million a year on living expenses.

There is actually an island off Ko Samui for sale. A steal at 1.5 million USD.

To beat the taxes, I'd ring up Elon, sell him the ticket for $1B, and he could say his no profit foundation bought the ticket, and hopefully avoid the taxes, and I'd still have 50% of the winnings, same as if I claimed and paid the tax.

Except the other $1B wouldn't be wasted, if the govt had it.  Actually go to good use.

Win win.

Hell no, Island in the Gulf ... nah.   Maybe the Andaman, or just an estate on Kauai (no snakes :coffee1:), HI, USA.   Split time between there and the Continental USA.

25 yrs is enough of TH, way too small, out of here 😎

Yes, it is annoying with the taxes, but you'd not be able to avoid them. Whichever jurisdiction  your ticket was bought in, you'd have to pay taxes there. Mind you, you could then transfer the money into an account in the Cayman Islands, and transfer it in the suitable time frame into Thailand, thus avoiding tax in Thailand.

I wouldn't be living in TH.  As soon as wife & kid got tourist visa for USA, we'd be gone from TH.  Give the house & land to one of the wife's sisters or nieces.

Nothing worth staying of living in TH for.   As stated.25 yrs is enough.  Love the country, but no allegiance to it, or desire to stay if having silly money.

I'm here for 3 reasons ...

... daughter lives in TH

... low cost of living

... low cost of holidays

So, the Jackpot is at 1.4 billion USD. And yes, you can play from Thailand legally, not via black market lotteries but with one legit website.

However, you will win a measly 400 million USD due to state taxes, still, worth a flutter!

How would you spend 400 million USD?

I'd buy the Iphone 17 I am dreaming of.

You do realize the Vivo Xfold 5 Pro will charge massively faster? And has a foldable screen?

The Vivo Xfodl 5 Pro, totally humiliates the Iphone:

Even with 479 million USD I wouldn't buy an Apple product.

Aren't you settled in after 25 years? Surely a move to Hawaii would be a nightmare?

Hopping a plane to HI in First Class, and renting a beachfront/hillside penthouse/condo would be a nightmare :cheesy:

Pure hell till I decided on a plan, to the end of days.

As stated, here for 3 reason, none include the house & land.  I'm only settled, for now.  Never settled forever, until I am, and that day isn't here yet.

Wife likes playing in her GreenHouse & garden, and having a house, or I'd be O&A permanently, living out of bungalows, where ever the mood takes me.

Anything in Thailand that really grates on you?

Not good for non-swimmers.

Not really.   Few month of bad air pollution, and for me, that AQI 75+, which is OK compared to rest of TH north of us, where they get 100+ for 4 or 5 months.   Screw that.

Usually a bit windy, which keeps my drones grounded, or raining.  But that's all, so life is good, if that's all I can complain about.

I don't even mind driving here, and not much different than USA, both having their share of Aholes, but less (none) people have hit me here, about 6 in USA ... go figure.

Couple hours organizing paperwork and sitting at Imm once a year.  Too easy.

Maybe sea traffic would be bearable with a Beneteau  Swift Trawler 54?

With dogs, of course

If I won my dream would be to randomly go to the Childrens Hospital in Siem Reap and get ripped and pay everyones bill for the day.

Maybe like sponsor 100 families over the world, that would be cool too. Then they could put Red Fanta in front of my picture for the next 1000 years.

That would work, though something bit more comfy.  Place for a jet ski or small Zodiac for beach excursions, along with space to store diving gear.

I'm easy to make happy.

Yes, it is rather small. So we may have to look at some slightly more expensive yachts?

Sniffy the WonderDog comes with us every where.  She's got five more year in her, only 12 now.

What a lovely idea, to pay people's bills in hospitals. I love it. How awesome would that be to do?

Yes, maybe set up your own foundation to sponsor people.

I might set up a special interest production company in Prague and book the top talent for weekly private, erm, shootings. You could recover the cost with the website.

it's easy, you just contact the agencies and book the best models.

Dude during Covid we handed out food to the ladies standing on line with their sick  babies in the hot sun. Can you imagine handing each of them $1000. Pocket change!

You could do all sorts of cool stuff! Drive down to some block full of homeless people and give them all clean clothes! Or pizzas!

Or find some old lady whose taxes are due on her house and pay it! OMG what fun
