Cô Tiên Mountain, standing nearly 400 metres tall with three linked peaks, has gained popularity as a hiking and camping spot among both locals and tourists. Its summit offers breathtaking views of the coastal city of Nha Trang, drawing many outdoor enthusiasts. However, the mountain's allure comes with inherent risks. Its steep and rocky trails can be perilous, especially at night when dew makes paths slippery. The potential for accidents is heightened in unfamiliar terrain, making preparedness essential. This recent rescue has underscored the importance of taking necessary precautions when exploring the mountain. Local fire prevention and rescue authorities have reiterated warnings against hiking without professional guides or appropriate gear. They advise potential climbers to thoroughly research the area and verify weather conditions to minimise risks. The region has a history of visitors encountering difficulties on Cô Tiên Mountain, with occasional reports of hikers losing their way. This incident serves as a reminder of the mountain's challenges, highlighting the need for vigilance and preparedness. Thanks to the swift action of local authorities, the two Russian tourists were saved from what could have been a dire situation. As the area continues to attract adventurers, both local and international, safety remains a top priority. Authorities are keen to ensure that what draws visitors to Cô Tiên Mountain—the beauty of its trails and views—is enjoyed safely, with respect to the elements and terrain.
