U.S. Passport renewal “Thailand Visa Expiration Date”

Featured Replies

When renewing a U.S. passport, the ‘Checklist’ page has a box in the bottom left corner that states “Please provide the following information”

“Travel plans:” and “Thailand Visa Expiration Date:”.

My wife is renewing her U.S. Passport. My wife is Thai, so she also has a Thai passport. When she enters Thailand she enters on her Thai Passport, so she has no ‘Thailand Visa Expiration Date:” in her U.S. passport. Should she write in “No Thailand Visa”? Also, does she need to write in “I have no immediate international travel plans”?

Thank you.

write “none”  for both answers

give them more information is not necessary and may be problematic

telling them “No Thai visa” could raise other questions and may be confusing without more story

I have a different answer.

The checklist is NOT the official passport application.

It's just a way of proofing that you've done everything required related to the application.

I would say --

Dual Thai-U.S. citizen so no Thai visa. No current travel plans.

Saying "none" actually raises questions.

Saying what's up doesn't.

Thank you both for sharing your opinions.

I'm surprised there haven't been more responses since there must be many people on these forums married to a Thai with dual citizenship.😟

For travel plans the form says to write none if you have none

that IS part of the application  form

The question (read it again) was specifically about the CHECKLIST PAGE. That checklist page is a customized form for the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok for passport renewals by post within Thailand. Again, the CHECKLIST PAGE is not part of the official application form for the State Department.

So what did you do???? My wife is renewing her passport and is facing this dilemma. We are leaning to using N/A (Not Applicable)
