ABC Pulls 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Over Charlie Kirk Remarks

What a crock.. And to think so many likes about your comment is beyond me. America is free, free to do anything you like that is not illegal. Free to say anything you like, unlike Thailand! But Kimmel should have been removed just on the moral issues he blasted by commenting positively on the murder of someone. On Tv, your kids are watching and it seems you and many others in this Op want them to see how good it is to kill someone using their freedom of speech. You should be ashamed of your comment.

What did Kirk do to you or anyone else to deserve death? NOTHING. He talked to others and was a voice not only heard by younger Americans but also by the government itself. Do you really think his murder in front of so many University students should be shown in a positive aspect? REALLY?

He did no such thing. STOP LYING.

I think you're talking about the late Mr. Kirk. That's exactly what he made a career of. Now his dark ideology will be amplified as he's being made a martyr saint by the maga fascists.

Garbage point.

Kirk's work was all about pushing a political agenda.

And he was trying to push his bull**it religious beliefs.

As soon as I hear that someone is basing any decision on what it says in the Bible, I immediately have no interest in that person's opinions.

Name me one show or one person fired from their job that the left has made happen.

Roseanne Barr.

On May 29, 2018, Barr responded to a thread on Twitter about Valerie Jarrett, a senior advisor to former President Obama.[91] The tweet, which read "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj" [sic], was widely criticized as being racist about Jarrett ("vj").

Later that day, ABC canceled Roseanne and removed the show's content from the network website. Reruns of the original Roseanne were also removed from the Katz Broadcasting-owned diginet Laff

The cancellation announcement from ABC president Channing Dungey, the first African-American woman to head the network, called Barr's remark "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values."[52] Within three weeks, the television show was revived as spinoff The Conners, with mostly the same cast and crew, minus Barr.

What he did was have open discussions.

He viciously verbally abused and mocked people that he disagreed with, egged on by his mostly far right wing audiences. But in the bullying department he was a lightweight compared to Mr. Trump.

It goes further than that.

The "Christian" values he was pushing were related to maga fascism. Not much in the way of real Christian values in that.

Well maybe it is their political view, since the left has welcomed the assassination culture in their political ideology which has been apparent because none in the left media and none of the left politicians were canceling those in the assassination culture including many lefties here by way of contorting foolish rationalizations.

Who debunked it, and what data was used to do so?

The annoying thing is Kimmel still has a net worth of 50 million USD. Can he not be ex-propriated and his money distributed among prominent MAGA organizations like Turning point USA?

Kimmel was lying.

He said "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.

Very obviously that is a blatant and shameless lie, as Robinson is not a MAGA supporter, but a supporter of the left, ANTIFA, trans rights and homosexuality.

Kimmel's words to me meant that MAGA was just trying to say that whoever murdered Kirk was not one of them, so they pointed out other groups, and, of course, focused on the liberals. What Kimmel said, IMO, was more like, "This is a bad guy, and he's not one of us, so he must be associated with some other group we hate."

So, what you've said in your last sentence takes things way too far. I, too, don't believe Robinson was a MAGA supporter, but hopefully, during his trial, we'll find out not only if he is guilty or not, but what his motives were and how they were formed.

The depths that my left wing friends have gone to shocks and disgusts me.

You don’t know what a fascist is.

Do you condemn the killing of Kirk?
You sound like Destiny.

Well, Kimmel was trying to get cheap laughs from the killing of a person that was debating and making speeches.... that's not okay.

Before you let your far-lefty self-righeous nonsense push buttons in you, you should ask yourself the question that whether this is okay in a civilised society? Well, answer is "No, it isn't" and would only be normalised in a society that has lost its moral compass.

But, in this case, there was no claim that the government threatened ABC that if they didn't fire Barr, they would force them to "the hard way." Obama did make a statement condemning the remark, but IMO, it was a decision solely made by Dungey.

In the case of Kimmel, there were threats from the government against ABC demanding his dismissal. However, his show was only "suspended," not canceled.

I see what you mean, but Kimmel bringing up this hypothetical point that MAGA HAD to deflect that the killer is not one of them, implies that the killer is one of them, ie MAGA, why else, would they have to deflect?

We know the motives of Robinson, the mother is on record that he started to be left-leaning and supporting trans and LGBT rights:

I don't think you can threaten networks that are worth 10 or 69 billion USD. These executives make their own decisions. At the time of Barr's firing, the executive was an African-American lady who subscribed to leftist ideas on race.  The lady in charge of ABC news now is Dana Walden, who previously headed the Fox Network. Times have changed.

In any event Kimmel will be fine. He's worth 50 million USD. He'll probably bombard Youtube.

Omg, are you saying Christianity is BS?

Christianity is the cultural and moral bedrock of the USA.

Are you an atheist?

You are wrong or spreading muck misinformation. Jimmy Kimmel's statement was not a "blatant and shameless lie" because it was made on September 15, 2025—days before prosecutors publicly released evidence on September 16-17 confirming Tyler Robinson's leftist-leaning views and motivations (e.g., texts expressing frustration with Kirk's "hatred," support for trans and gay rights, and a shift toward progressive politics, as reported by outlets like Reuters, The Guardian, and PBS). At the time, limited public details about Robinson's ideology were available, and Kimmel's monologue critiqued MAGA figures for politicizing the event without evidence tying the suspect to the left, which aligned with the early narrative. The comment mischaracterizes Kimmel's words as knowingly false and ignores the timeline of emerging facts.

Here is a great 4-minute video from The Daily Show that is even "worse" (and funnier) than Kimmel's. You'd better watch it soon because I suspect it will be taken offline quickly, and The Daily Show will be ancient history! 🥹

No actually it was Kimmel, and now you, that are spreading "misinformation", in particular that Tylor Robinson might have been "MAGA"

This misinformation on the part of Kimmel was already apparent on the 15th, because on the 12th, the bullets with antifascist song slogans and "Hey fascist, Catch" were already found. Quite apart from the fact that Kirk was a pillar of the MAGA movement and no MAGA supporter would ever have targeted Kirk.

It was misinformation and a lie, and we all know why Kimmel and now you are peddling it.

What I can’t understand is why the crazy lefties can’t find a decent leader, any idea.
