Under 600 baht hotel is well below my idea of good.

Sounds like a flea pit.

Nothing under 3000 baht a night for me up country.  7000 baht in a city.

I like a good hotel and breakfast that us recognisable as food.

Load of crap

Why? I don't do cheap.

Nonsense. Rooms vary little between 600 baht and 3000 baht.

You don't get around much.

Up to you. I don't do cheap.

But you wouldn't know because you've never been in a 3000 baht room, Susan. All you do is bargain hunt for anything on the skint. The difference is as big as it is between one of your dumpster diver topics and a well penned post.

Stayed in over 100 hotels. You don't have a clue. Most rooms in the 1500 to 3000 bracket are overpriced. The main difference is a nice pool and buffet breakkie. Actual rooms much the same as Good Home.

The best places to stay are bungalows near the beach. Hotel rooms are kind of the same the world over.

And some are much better than others.

Cheap Charlie's wouldn't know this Susan.

Stayed in 5 star hotels. Very overpriced with often soul less rooms.

I much prefer a bungalow to a hotel room.

How many bungalows have you stayed in? How did you rent them?

I'm interested for a family stay. But you are full of it.

I don't think you have a clue about Thai hotels and prices. Udon has 400 baht room with a pool. Would be 2000 baht in Bangkok.

Similar price to the Majestic in Surin.

No comparison to the Novotel at Ploenchit.

Not even close.

And I'm more than happy to pay the difference.

Chocolates on your bed on your birthday. Premier service unlimited beers and wine on the top floor balcony in the afternoon . Best breakfast with individual egg service.

And close to Soi 4

Keep your cheap Charlie hotels.

I don't do Thailand cheap.

What's the point?

Novotel is closed. Looks basic in photo. Worth 800 baht.
