Missing Person Advice

Featured Replies

A distant ex-work colleague died suddenly of a heart attack recently in the UK. Mutual friends say he had a Thai wife in Phuket and they want to contact her. All his devices and computers are locked/inaccessible.

They have her Thai bank details and wonder if this can be used to obtain her ID etc. from the bank. I assume this would need some legal authority.

I also hear that Thais often go on pantip.com if needing to find someone, some people there are very helpful apparently.

Does anyone have any information regarding these avenues, or any alternative methods other than getting a Private Investigator?

Thanks!

Mutual friends might know her FB details and go from there.Of course the bank details would need a legal go between.

Thanks for that, but none of the people in the UK know her friends and I have never met her - not seen him for 20 years...Btw, I tried facebook, IG etc....

If you're in Phuket or know someone who is, they could go to the Phuket police with her bank info and let them know the story. They might be able to find her address by her name, then contact her for you, giving them the reasons why. A small tip might help.

What was his name, and a few details, even a photo, if having, as maybe one of us can find the info, wife on Phuket.  If on FB or IG, someone may actually know him.

If they have bank account but no name add the account number it to your banking app (Thai) to set up a transfer..... this will give the account holders name.

Search FB for that name.

If you have a bank app on your phone, send her a minimal payment and then you can leave a message for her with the transfer.
