On 19 September 2025 at 13.30, Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, under the Royal Thai Navy Medical Department, carried out its annual fire suppression and evacuation drill. The exercise aimed to strengthen safety readiness for fire prevention and response while enhancing staff knowledge and skills in handling emergencies.

The drill was supported by both internal and external firefighting teams, with multiple participating fire stations and units. These included the Firefighting Section, Vehicle Division of Naval Support; Fire and Rescue Division of the Air Wing; Transport Division, Service and Transport Section; Firefighting Section of the Naval Dockyard; Transport and Firefighting Division of the Naval Logistics Command; Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division of Khet Udomsak Municipality; and the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division of Plutaluang Subdistrict Administrative Organisation.

The hospital director, along with the deputy directors for administration and support, served as the general fire commanders overseeing the exercise. The medical team also took part in the drill to ensure coordination and preparedness in protecting patients, staff, and facilities. The simulation demonstrated cooperation between medical personnel and firefighting units in a controlled training environment.

This annual activity forms part of the hospital’s wider safety measures and commitment to protecting patients and staff. By practising emergency protocols, the hospital ensures that all parties involved are familiar with roles and responsibilities, thereby reducing risks during real incidents. The collaboration with external agencies also highlights the importance of integrated efforts in responding to potential fire hazards effectively.

Moving forward, the hospital is expected to continue holding regular training and safety exercises as part of its operational standards. The experience gained from this year’s drill will inform future planning and improve readiness in dealing with emergencies. The initiative is designed to enhance trust and confidence among patients, visitors and healthcare workers.
