A 10-year-old boy in Dak Lak Province, Thach Chi Khang, has been recognized for his bravery after helping a neighbor injured in a violent attack. Local authorities and the education department awarded the 5th grader for his quick response that helped save the life of another boy on September 13. Khang received a certificate and letter of commendation during a school ceremony, highlighting his bravery as inspirational.

The commendation followed a terrifying incident involving Nguyen Nam Dai Thuan, 37, who attacked his ex-wife's family, resulting in three fatalities and injuring a 13-year-old boy, Nguyen Tan Phat. Despite being wounded, Phat escaped to Khang's home seeking refuge. Without hesitation, Khang assisted his friend by locking the doors and providing comfort until law enforcement arrived.

Officials are urging the provincial People’s Committee to grant Khang an extraordinary award in light of his actions. The community has rallied to support him with gifts and donations, underscoring the broad appreciation for his courage. Teachers and local residents have praised Khang, reflecting on the significant example he has set.

Going forward, Khang's recognition is anticipated to inspire others to act selflessly in times of crisis. The event has sparked discussions on community defense measures and fostering resilience among young people. Authorities continue to investigate the attack, ensuring justice for the victims and safeguarding the community.
