Thanat Thanakitamnuay, a 33-year-old heir to a prominent real estate empire, surrendered to the Bang Lamung police after an arrest warrant was issued for allegedly assaulting a driver. The incident took place on July 5 in Pattaya when Thanat allegedly attacked Chalongchai, a 43-year-old hired driver, leaving him injured and bleeding. Police detained Thanat after his surrender, with his lawyer acknowledging partial compensation for the victim.

The conflict arose during a trip from Bangkok to Chon Buri's Sattahip district when Thanat reportedly became enraged at Chalongchai for not running a red light. Along Sukhumvit Road, the alleged assault occurred, prompting Chalongchai to seek refuge in a hotel, while Thanat drove off with the driver's belongings, also allegedly threatening Chalongchai's family. Despite multiple summonses, Thanat failed to appear, leading to the warrant issuance by Pattaya Provincial Court for assault causing physical and mental harm.

Thanat's surrender came after he learned about the warrant, accompanied by his lawyer who refrained from commenting further but confirmed the 65,000 baht compensation arrangement. This incident follows a previous assault accusation involving a woman and illicit substances at Thanat's Bangkok residence. That case had resulted in a police raid uncovering firearms, ammunition, and narcotics, leading to his arrest and subsequent release on bail.

Looking forward, Thanat's legal troubles may continue as investigations proceed concerning his charges. Authorities will likely explore the current assault case's connection to his past accusations. Legal experts suggest that such repeated offenses could result in stricter penalties if he is found guilty.

Key Takeaways

  • Thanat surrendered after a warrant was issued for allegedly assaulting a driver.
  • The incident adds to his history of legal troubles involving past alleged assaults and illegal possession of weapons.
  • Experts predict potential severe legal consequences due to repeated offenses.

Can we assume his bail was revoked due to several infractions, like committing another crime while out on bail and failure to appear? 🤣

The eye patch completes the look. Russian mafia tattoos and the thousand yard stare don't cut the mustard these days. One needs to set himself above the rest, and this fellow has done so.
