Lavrov: NATO, EU Have Declared ‘Real War’ on Russia

 

 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused NATO and the European Union on Thursday of declaring a “real war” on Moscow and directly taking part in the Ukraine conflict.

 

“A clear example is the crisis in Ukraine, provoked by the collective West, through which NATO and the European Union … have already declared a real war on my country and are directly participating in it,” Lavrov told foreign ministers at a G20 meeting at the United Nations, according to Russian state media TASS.

 

UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper dismissed Lavrov’s remarks, condemning Russia’s “unprovoked war of aggression.” She said no “amount of false fantasy world distortions, misinformation and propaganda from the Russian representative about the causes of the war will convince anyone,” Reuters reported.

 

The clash came days after U.S. President Donald Trump suggested for the first time that Ukraine could win back all of its lost territory — and potentially more. On Truth Social, Trump wrote that with NATO and EU backing, restoring Ukraine’s “original borders” was “very much an option,” and branded Russia’s military a “paper tiger,” a claim the Kremlin quickly rejected.

 

European leaders have meanwhile pushed to increase pressure on Moscow. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas urged allies to build “international pressure on Russia to stop killing and engage in meaningful negotiations.”

 

The debate also follows a string of Russian drone and jet incursions into NATO airspace. NATO chief Mark Rutte told Fox News he supports Trump’s call for members to shoot down Russian planes that enter their skies, but only after exhausting all other measures. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also said the option is “on the table.”

As far as real war, the Kremlin brainwashers there still have the Russian people calling their genocidal war on Ukraine a special military operation. 

 

The Russians have a bad habit of threatening to blow up everyone. Don't the Russian people understand how wind works and how radioactive debris scatters? Russia does not have the ability to invade and  hold Europe. It would have to mobilize its entire nation to go to war. The EU and its allies have a diversified economy and military capacity. Russia does not.

The threats are just attempts to manipulate the west.

Russia is a PAPER BEAR. 

Russia have been at cyber war against Europe sabotaging critical infrastructure, intensified cyber war, and lately launching drones around airports and disturbing the safety of airspace. 

 

Russia is just using propaganda getting their allies, and those who yet have not decided side, to make up their mind for what eventually will happen.

Yes I understand they want to destroy the west and have been working at that for decades with a good level of success.

But Russia is not going to use nukes.

But when it comes to who wants to destroy who, it comes with the game of who gots the most power in arms, and who got the economical power and controls the marked. The fight for resources and land will never fade.

Seems you forget the history, not uncommon methods to intervene and interfere with neighboring countries who do not do what you want them to do.

Russian invaded Ukraine because of safe harbor, and their resources as well their government did not play along with Kreml.

Exactly.  If Russia wanted to conquer Ukraine totally, they would have done it within a year.  But that would have caused massive casualties and maybe have triggered NATO countries to respond with their military - hence WW3. However, that might not happen (NATO responding militarily) because Russia has strategic alliances with India and China and they would probably support Russia - they certainly do not want NATO on their borders. Plus it would probably trigger China to invade Taiwan while the rest of the World is otherwise occupied (same as Japan did in WW3). Big picture issues at stake - USA/NATO tried to 'convert' Ukraine into a NATO Nation - against Russia's wishes and the deals they thought were done when USSR broke up and became Russia and independent States.

Sorry but you can't rewrite history.

Russia DID try to take over Ukraine very quickly in the beginning of the war and Ukraine surprised the world by stopping them.

Utter tripe. Putin thought he could conquer Ukraine in a few days. If Kyiv had fallen it would have been game over. Instead, a result of heroic resistance from the Ukrainians coupled with gross incompetence by the Russians that plan failed.

Fast forward til today, where Ukraine really have hit Russia where it hurts the most - the energy sector. And that's why Russia has resorted to increased sabre rattling, because that the only thing left for them to do.

As long as Europe remembers the Russians have 5000 plus nuclear weapons and the EU does not.
