Bangkok authorities have begun round-the-clock demolition of the subsiding Samsen Police Station using automated equipment, after continued soil movement caused parts of the building to sink. The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has poured over 4,500 cubic metres of sand into the affected area to stabilise the ground and support the structure, for a controlled demolition, as the building continues to tilt inward by about 50 centimetres. Thai tourism reels from a strong baht impacting Japanese visits. The baht's appreciation against a weakening yen has made trips to Thailand more expensive for Japanese tourists, hampering the recovery of tourism from Japan. Although Thai tourists are flocking to Japan for their holidays, reversing the flow has been challenging for this popular travel route.

Pattaya's roads are rife with chaos as drivers openly flout traffic laws without fear of repercussions. With speeding motorcycles, illegal U-turns, and songthaews parked haphazardly, the streets have become a battleground of lawless driving. Enforcement by the local police seems merely symbolic, as fines are often inconsistent or negligently imposed.

Heavy rains in northern Thailand have pushed water levels at Bhumibol Dam in Tak province perilously close to capacity, necessitating vigilant monitoring and reduced discharge to avert flooding downstream. Only 10% of the reservoir's space remains, equating to about 5 metres in depth before it’s full. Officials from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) convened on 6 October to assess the situation and plan for possible emergency measures.
