Calls for Tougher UK Migration Rules as Integration Falters

British Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has expressed concern about high immigration levels, stating that they are causing harm to communities and impeding integration. Addressing the BBC, Badenoch stressed the need for more significant efforts in promoting unity, cautioning against ignoring issues out of fear of accusations of racism. She highlighted that the UK, once cohesive, is now facing fragmentation.

Recently, Badenoch defended comments by shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick, who described Birmingham's Handsworth as poorly integrated. A March recording revealed Jenrick expressing concern over being in the area without seeing diversity, sparking backlash from political opponents. He argued for integration, saying it’s about living together, not separately.

Badenoch backed these views during her BBC interview, indicating a broader issue across the UK, citing recent terror attacks as evidence of failed integration. She attributed some past mistakes to governmental oversight and discussed introducing tougher policies. These include leaving the European Convention on Human Rights and plans to deport 750,000 illegal immigrants within five years.

Her comments come amid a series of media appearances and as Reform UK claims a shift in Conservative support, with 20 councillors defecting. Despite increased Reform popularity, Badenoch dismissed these defections as a temporary trend, asserting that true leadership faces challenges squarely. She emphasised no desire to align with Reform UK, criticising their welfare policies.

Key Takeaways:

  • Kemi Badenoch warns that immigration levels hinder societal integration.
  • Criticism arises from comments made by Robert Jenrick about integration failures.
  • Reform UK gains momentum, but Badenoch remains dismissive of defections.

Which left winger told you that?

Having the choice between fish and chips, a curry or a kebab is no indication of strength.

As she starts her daily struggles with diversity over the breakfast table.

The good news is that the Conservatives are now irrelevant, so it really doesn't matter what she says!

Britain is a failed experiment. Hopefully other countries learn from it and do not repeat it. Unless of course they think having armed police protecting synagogues from Islamists is the way to go.

Correct. They adopted left wing policies while pretending to be Conservative. Huge fail. They're done.

Nice to be in agreement with you for a change.  Although you have a strange idea about what left-wing policies are!

Oh you are a mind reader now?

So is your "friend" Chomper strangely enough. Oh look, he's on this thread at the same time as you again. Maybe he/she could invent some ideas for me as well. Then you both could team up and argue against them. 😄

I know. 😉

But it provided a suitable prelude to my definition of what can be classified as a strength.

Lots of disparate groups with a long history of violent conflict being shoehorned together onto a small island was never going to be "a strength" and the gaslighting by Liberals that it is, will not change that.

No assumption necessary. You somehow seem to think the Conservative party has leftwing policies.  That is strange.

A deliberate misspelling has been removed.

It did when in power.

It's copying Reform now.

Most, if not all, of Europe is doomed since they allowed open borders.

The UK is screwed, when a UK citizen is arrested for carrying a UK flag you really have to wonder, it appears non UK citizens have more rights now than actual people born there, it is fast becoming a muslim country with a pathetic govt destroying it, the country is a total joke

As an Englishman this constant complaining about foreigners not assimilating is a bit ironic in my opinion.

It isn’t like these foreigners are hunting and killing all us indigenous Brits like we did to the Canadians, Americans and Australians.

We forced our language and laws on them, and virtually enslaved them.

A small minority have groomed some young girls but where were the parents?
And it appears a lot of these girls did, initially at least, went along with it.

Our constant racist complaining will not make them like us, but then we get all offended if they return fire.

And from my observations they are a lot better behaved than us who love a drunken brawl and fighting/ soccer hooliganism.

Their food is a bit more tasty also.

i think if we embrace them instead of offending them the UK could be a much better place.

Open borders are a huge problem, but hardly their only one.  The Euros have also punted on economic and industrial development and driven up their cost of energy at the altar of stoopid policies.  Pretty soon, they'll be freezing in the dark because that's all that a lot of them can afford.

Of course, the leaders will still be swimming in Champagne and Foie gras.  It'll be the serfs freezing.

The elites will borrow the phrase "Let them eat cake".

Sickening victim blaming. 🤮

It is not racist to object to children being raped/sexually abused. Or terrorist attacks. In fact, the only time I hear racism is from the left these days under the guise of DEI.

Only if you consider two drunk blokes having a street fight worse than recent events in Rotherham/Manchester.

The economic argument is dead.

Huge, unparalleled levels of immigration yet UK and European economies are flatlining. Even Starmer admitted that in his white paper back in May.

All it does is increase crime and destroy the community and the culture.

By all means lock rapists up.

No need to take it out on the 99.9% of immigrants who have done nothing.

By doing that you are racist.

Why are you assuming that the immigrant rapists are people of colour?

Sounds a bit racist to me.
