Recommend a laser printer under 4000 baht.

Featured Replies

After a new laser mono printer that prints, copies and scans, preferably under 4000 baht. Used to have a Brother DCP1510 that was OK, but would like to hear of any other options in my price range.

I've been using the Brother DCP-1610W for a few years and have been very satisfied with it. It prints, copies and scans, has a wifi interface that is easy to configure, and Brother has drivers for Linux that work without any tweaking. Brother also has an app that will let you print from your smartphone, a handy feature I use from time to time.

This model usually lists for about 4,500 baht, but I've seen current offers as low as 3,730.

Hope this helps.

I have the same printer, bought it on Shopee 3660 baht during a monthly campaign, and am also satisfied with the performance.

One thing that bothers me though is that LCD display has no backlit, which makes it difficult to read.

Yes, you're right about the LCD display being hard to read without good lighting, fortunately I don't have to use it too often.

I should also mention that this printer seems to use toner quite efficiently, and I was able to buy toner cartridges for about 335 baht online.  So it's inexpensive to run.

I had the same problem with the DCP1510, I just couldn't read the display which stops me from buying another.

That's cheap, the DCP 1510 is still selling for around 4000 baht on Lazada and the DCP1610 around 5000 baht.

Inkjet is something I would never buy again in the west as they do dry up in those climates.

But in the highly humid climate of Thailand I would say why not ?

But at the end of the day, laser is the best choice of course and nothing to beat Brother.

Much depends from which store you buy and their reputation on after sales service in your city.  A well known chain of stores could have great critics nationwide but do check how they function in your city as it can drastically change.

Some get carried away with the low prices online. Others get lucky on online purchases. Until an issue arises and if bought online through some unknown seller, how to be sure he will keep up the standards in after sales ?

Isn't there display contrast adjustment for that model?

I use a HP 135w. It's an "all in one".

Some Baht more. Sure

Laser printers are definitely the best choice for monochrome printing. If you need color, it might be a different story.

Back in grad school in 1985, I remember printing my thesis on one of the first Apple Laserwriters (from a Mac with Microsoft Word 1.0). The price on that laser printer was about $7,000. It seemed like a typesetting marvel at the time, but I thought I would never be able to afford one. But now you can buy a reliable laser printer for a mere $125.

Have the same model for years

as for reading the display I always use a Torch

20 baht at a 20 baht shop or around 33 baht at a Mr DIY shop   seems a lot cheaper than buying a new printer ??

Mine quit working after about 3 years and was told cheaper to buy new one than try and fix it, so that's why I'm in the market for a new one and looking at other options.

 https://www.advice.co.th/product/laser-multifunction/brother/brother-laser-dcp-1510

or the newer one

  https://www.advice.co.th/product/laser-multifunction/brother/brother-laser-dcp-1610w

both appear to be a good price, + from Advice with same day delivery

Upgraded my PC to Win 11 on Monday, my Printer DCO-1510 8 year old daily use will no longer Copy, use this maybe 50 times a week, no idea if it has to do with Win 11, as for past few weeks appears the USB plug on printer often says no connection, [yesterday  brand new cable] also says the same and must wiggle it around every time used but still will not copy.....

I need a torchlight to read it.

A typical "disease" of those super cheap LCD. Device is about 15 yr old or more.

Recently got me a new drum ("heater") for 6xx Baht and maybe have a few more years.

Scan function works anyway.

Good enough for household use.

The product range in the usual chain stores is quite meager.

Ink  smearers as far as you can look.
