This is the airline's first direct connection to Cebu, enhancing its Southeast Asian network. Deputy CEO Dang Anh Tuan emphasized that the new route strengthens regional air connectivity, improving convenience for passengers. The direct flights will significantly reduce travel time, cutting it to three hours compared to the previous six to eight hours with transit. Passengers will benefit from a seamless experience with improved check-in and baggage handling services, supported by the airline's international four-star service standard. This new route aims to boost tourism, trade, and cultural ties between Vietnam and the Philippines. Vietnam Airlines currently conducts nine flights weekly from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Manila. The new Hanoi–Cebu service will expand the total number of flights between Vietnam and the Philippines to 12 weekly. The airline has launched promotional fares for the new service, with round-trip economy tickets starting at VND5.66 million ($215) and business class at VND24.44 million, inclusive of taxes and fees. To celebrate the launch, passengers purchasing tickets by February 28, 2026, for departures between December 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026, will enjoy these special rates. Additionally, they will receive one free extra baggage allowance, and Lotus miles members can earn 1,000–2,000 bonus miles depending on their cabin class. Experts believe the route will attract both Philippine visitors heading to Vietnam for tourism and business, and Vietnamese travelers choosing Cebu for leisure, study, and work. The initiative underscores Vietnam Airlines' commitment to enhancing connectivity within the region and offering travelers more direct options.
