Lovely hill, but where the …  it??????

I had dinner a few weeks ago at a lovely place called the chocolate factory

It's a upper class place where I sipped my fine Australian wine without being around the uneducated and lower class fabric of society

I could be mistaken but....

Didn't I read at Suvarnabhumi food court their cards had to be cashed in by midnight?

This would make validity less than 24 hours.

Very wise: as the brunches are not nice!

Strange place to for a food court, is it not?

Some would say it's a great place for a food court.

I certainly find it handy before and after flights.

You may think it's fair because you have other 30-day cards in your possession, but it's still your own money, and you're proving that you're a regular customer.
I find it highly reprehensible and consider it a form of theft.

Nevertheless, I would lodge a complaint with Big C and request that they provide a valid reason for confiscating your money after 45 days without prior notice.

And if you do that, and IF you even get a reply, it will probably be along the lines of "Please read our T&C".

It's not their fault that we cannot read their language in their country - the onus is on us to ask!

But as others have said, why put so much money on what is meant to be a temporary wallet when it's so easy to cash it in?

Because it saves the time of putting money on the card before each meal and getting a refund after each meal.  Very simple.

didn't turn out very simple for the op

So, I'm presuming this is the last draw and you're seriously considering returning to your home country forthwith.

So sorry for you that your experience in Thailand had to end on this sour note. 😓

I always just presumed that the standard procedure was to just get a card for the amount of the intended, immediate food court purchase. On the occasion there might be a few baht surplus left unused because I chose something less expensive, I just cashed out the card immediately after eating.

There's really never a line, and service is quick. Its not like hundreds of people lined up at BTS or MRT during rush hour.

Never would have occurred to me that people would have a pre-paid credit line with Big-C Food Court, just in case.

Takes all kinds I guess.

It was some years ago that we forgot to cash out. Next day there was no balance. I was told that it works for the same day only. If I remember correctly it was MBK.

Absolutely not ,I'm the same as you John and only eat at the Pattaya Hilton or those restaurants on Pratimnak Hill

I won't be seen eating with the lower class I can assure you of that ,!!!

Well, it is a bit odd, as so many people on this forum constantly attest to their healthy eating habits, including meals at home supplemented with fine dining. But now it turns out that there is grumbling about being on the short of the slop churned out in food courts. Better off going and getting a sandwich from the deli at Foodland.
