A report claiming South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok had a list of seven Thai politicians involved in scam operations in Cambodia has been dismissed as fake news by the government. Government spokesman Siripong Angkasakulkiat stated that the South Korean embassy in Thailand confirmed the report was false. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized continued cooperation with international partners against transnational scams.

The unfounded report alleged that certain Thai politicians were behind scam centres in Cambodia. Prime Minister Anutin spoke with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on October 16, confirming the subject was not discussed. This highlights Thailand's active stance in addressing and dismantling fraudulent activities through international collaboration.

There were additional claims connecting Prince International Co to Sino-Thai Tower. However, Mr. Anutin refrained from commenting on these reports. Recently, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Plc (Stecon), founded by Anutin’s father, stated its subsidiary manages Sino-Thai Tower’s leasing. They clarified that Prince International Co lawfully rents office space for real estate brokerage, denying any fraudulent involvement.

Looking forward, the government remains committed to cracking down on scams and fostering international partnerships. Continued vigilance and cooperation with global entities are emphasized as priorities in addressing these issues. The authorities are expected to be proactive in preventing the spread of misinformation that could impact diplomatic relations.

Key Takeaways

  • South Korean PM does not possess a list of Thai politicians linked to scams.
  • Thailand emphasizes partnership with global entities to combat fraud.
  • Sino-Thai Tower’s management denies claims of fraudulent activity.

Thailand doesn't have bent politicians, prostitutes, drug manufacturers or call centres, just ask them.

Any time they do run across an undesirable dealings, it's only ever a foreigner of some sort or an illegal Burmese, never Thai as they would never lower themselves to do such a thing - so I'm told by many Thai people.

I'm skeptical that no politicians or people of influence don't do business across the border in Cambodia or Myanmar.

I'll kind of half believe you on that, but there are many thousands who possibly wouldn't.😀

I understand.

The Thai Government spokesman dismissed a report that alleges that Thai Government politicians colluded with Cambodian Government politicians in scam operations. The Thai Government says that the South Korean Government denied the report.

Key Takeaway

Too many Governments will spoil the pie

or online gambling sites - ask Joke - he doesnt know anything about it ..

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the fat cats got out of their bags regarding scam centres, casinos and deals for gas and oil drilling in contested waters between Thailand and Cambodia.

Whew...that's a relief.

Hmm... funny how quickly they try to close this down with a "Nothing to see here, move along" approach.

In that case, it must be fake. No Thai government official would be involved i the scam centers there. We all know it is done with Chinese backers and workers. Or perhaps, some Thai non-government worker with good connections with the Chinese. Hmm.

It's insulting to suggest that no more than seven Thai politicians are clever enough to profit from scam operations in Cambodia. Im glad that they've dismissed this.
