Same here except the popcorn, jellies (full of gelatin) kimchi and omit the ''enhanced'' flavours in my water. I make all my own juices and CBD oil.

Gelatin in itself is actually a good thing. The jellies I eat are just fruit and fruit juices. Popcorn air popped or cooked in good il is a healthy snack with a lot of fiber. I eat the Kimchi a lot lately as I had H Pylori and I'm still trying to get my gut microbiome back to normal after what the treatment did, and Kimchi has probiotics I need. The flavor enhancers are mostly ones with Monkfruit or Stevia, although I do use some with Splenda. I do have a juicer but don't get around to using it, although I should, with fruits and veggies. Love carrot juice.

You will live forever Fred.

I'm trying, but age has humbled me. I only hope to live to see my daughter here succeed in life back home, and finish my bucket list.

Well tell us how old you are and we can use statistics to give you an answer on how long you will be posting on here

Sorry I beg to differ .

How as an academic one can gather statistics if we didn't know

I'm using ChatGPT lately and thankyou

Is this your definition of yourself as an academic?..........

not of practical relevance; of only theoretical interest................And what others eat isn't your business, unless they tell you and you're writing a book, "My Findings on the Diets of Foreigners in Thailand".

I'm 137 and I'll likely be here another 20 or so years.

Sarcasm aside, I'm 69 and no one knows how long they'll live unless they have a terminal illness. Even you have no idea, but seeing you're in doctor's offices almost every week, you yourself must know something's wrong with you, physically I mean, or someone had you end up as a hypochondriac.

stick her in the sun for an hour or two and she'd dribble like a fondue tower.

I much prefer a Burger King Whopper with cheese and bacon than McD's Big Mac, but alas no BK in my area............😢

Yes unfortunately just like last week here in Australia the doctor listened to my breathing, checked my heart  etc and said with a sarcastic smirk he can't find anything we wrong with me !!!!

There is things wrong with me that could turn deadly but he can't of all people find anything like I was a liar !!!

The doctor in Pattaya always finds something that I'm suffering from

It's the ineffective doctors in Australia who will let you die if you let them pretend there's nothing wrong with you !!!!

That's what second or third opinions are for, especially if they say you have  a harsh disease or condition.

I think Thai food looks like mush, and mainly brought home as fast food in a plastic bag........😝....😁

To be fair, fast food is much better here than it is back in the west. The french fries are always very hot. The meat seems a little nicer too. The service is a magnitude better.

Also, back in the west, fast food often means being surrounded by poverty types. Not so here.

Relatedly, I live near a street with three British pubs on it. The Thai food they serve is as good as a very good Thai restaurant.

Probably because the food is made to reflect the clientele. Many people say they like Thai food. Try eating what Thais eat everyday. Nothing like what you eat in a 'Thai' restaurant.

Same with Chinese food. I had the unfortunate experience to live amongst an expat Chinese work force for a while. The canteen food was focussed towards their palette. It was horrible.

I remember one of the first we went to in Fair Lawn New Jersey in the 60's. A Big Mac was 45 cents and a regular burger was 25 cents.

I think the mid 60's prices for  a plain burger was 12-15 cents

Might be. I was thinking of 1968 or so, when I was 12 and we went to that McDonalds. More likely when I was driving in 1975 they were about a quarter. The old style stores . No drive thru. Also the White Castle burgers, which were 14 cents.            Edit: You're right, they were 15 cents and when I was driving they went to 25. Just checked it.

I am nine years older than you from Minneapolis Saint Paul area, lots of White Castles there. On our Saturday nite cruises we always stopped and got a sack. If you wanted cheeseburgers you ordered rats with hats. They had great onion chips. They would have a special for burgers eight for a dollar.

Always wanted to hunt and fish Minnesota but haven't had a chance yet. Vikings fan, yes, they blow it every year but still waiting. I can still taste those White castles, although cheap they were.

I had to go and get one after reading BMT's post - made me hungry. Luckily, only 10 minutes fast pace walk away to the nearest KFC currently. Grabbed a snack box for the Mrs which she loves so scored a few brownie points aswell.

I remember going to McD's Romford (East London) in around 1977/78 when it first opened. Must have been one of the first to open in the UK as I think the first was in South East London around 1974.

Mum took me and my brother there as a treat/bribe as it was time for haircut/new shoes/new school uniform. I was 9 or 10 years old at the time. Wow, it was a game changer! I had Wimpy on my birthday for the previous couple of years but this was something special. Big Mac, fries and a coke.

Have loved a Big Mac ever since and that was nearly 50 years ago. They have certainly lasted the test of time and great to know that some things never change. Great memories (other than the haircut - always hated having my haircut but now, I would give anything to HAVE to visit a barber).

Not had a fast food bugger in 15+ years. nasty stuff, but kids love it.

Made me own at home,  once or twice a year. aroy
