ooh did he not? i could've sworn he did when he was at ipswich or sunderland.

swap him for david hirst then in that case. or david nugent.

He might have done Mate, don't quote me on it & if he did, deservedly is in this Thread.. :)

I remember we had him on Trail once, Tony Gale's Testimonial at Upton Park, we player the ROI about a Month before USA 94, he scored a Hat Trick, & we STILL never signed him... :D

Could do with him now though.. :D

David (tampax) Hirst and Brian Deane both crap strikers

Hirst was potentially a great forward but unfortunately never recovered from injury.

He liked his beer too much though, he wasn't exactly too upset when he was injured, it means he could go in Mexborough working mens club instead, I don't think he ever played a full Christmas campaign in is career. :)

Thats funny that team is totally crap, Ol Turnip Traylor had some cracking players at the time aswell, PFA winner and Sheff Weds Chris Waddle who couldnt get in his squad despite being Englands best ever left winger springs to mind, what a <deleted> he really was and it brings back all my dormant hatred for the fool the prik deserved all the abuse he got from the press and more for ruining my summer 1994.

Certainly The Turnip Regime had a disproportionate amount of crap players selected. Whilst he was a crap international manager, he deserves credit for his club record.

It was nowt special, a few promotions and a cup final is about it.

Remember this is the man who replaced Gary Lineker with Alan Smith in 1992, guaranteeing an early flight home.

But he does come across as a nice enough bloke just a dreadful England manager as bad as Sven.
