I am trying to confirm which day counting method is used by the Thai tax authorities to assess whether I am Thai tax resident under the 180 day rule. Is it the same as the UK method where the day of arrival and departure are not included? Or do they count the number of midnights spent in the country? Or do they include both arrival day and departure day?

Am I right in assuming they run it off the entry and exit dates as stamped in my passport? (The crucial point being that with a flight that leaves shortly after midnight the counting would differ.)

well I am bumping up against the 180 day limit and I wanted to know if I was becoming tax resident in Thailand this year. Thank you for the info.
