14-Year-Old Boy Drowns After Inviting Friends to Swim

A 14-year-old boy drowned after inviting friends to swim in a pond in Sisaket Province, despite being unable to swim himself. The incident occurred on 23 October 2025 at Ban Non Charoen Pond in Nong Khrok Subdistrict, Mueang District. Police and rescue workers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a child drowning.

The victim was identified as Master Rachanon, a local resident of Nong Khrok. According to police investigations, Rachanon and three friends had gone to the pond to play in the water. The pond was deep and three of the boys, including the victim, could not swim. During the play, Rachanon accidentally moved into a deeper area and drowned before anyone could assist him.

Rescue personnel recovered the boy’s body and preliminary inquiries indicated no foul play. His family told authorities they did not suspect any wrongdoing and accepted the incident as an accident.
