Security Guard Assaulted on HCMC Metro by Teens

A 23-year-old security guard was assaulted by two teenagers on the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line in Ho Chi Minh City. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon after the guard asked passengers to maintain order. The altercation happened at Thu Duc Station around 5 p.m., involving teenagers aged 15 and 17.

The conflict began when the guard noticed children running inside the carriage. He approached the group to remind them to maintain order, prompting a violent reaction. Passengers filmed the attack, capturing one teenager repeatedly punching and kicking the guard, while another later joined in.

The Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien line, operational since late last year, spans nearly 20 km and includes 14 stations. It connects the city center to the eastern gateway, with the line serving approximately 57,785 passengers daily as per a June report.
