Four foreign nationals have been detained by police in Lạng Sơn Province, Việt Nam, suspected of attacking a taxi driver on National Highway 1A late Sunday night. Witness Hoàng Đức Quyết saw a car veer off the road around 11pm, with an individual fleeing the scene. He discovered the driver, Nguyễn Văn Định, with a severe neck injury and promptly informed the police.

Định, a taxi driver from Đào Viên Ward, Bắc Ninh Province, was rushed to Việt Đức Friendship Hospital in Hà Nội, where his condition stabilized. The police quickly cordoned off the area and apprehended four foreign nationals believed to be involved in the incident.

Initial investigations suggest the suspects entered Việt Nam illegally through a broker to find work. Believing they were being deceived while being driven to Hà Nội, they allegedly attacked driver Định with a knife and fled. The local authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more information on the event.

These arrests underscore concerns about illegal immigration and its implications in the region. The suspected individuals' motives and the manner of entry into Việt Nam are being scrutinized to prevent future incidents. Experts emphasize the need for stronger border controls and vigilance to deter unlawful entries.

Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses, with authorities focusing on the suspects' backgrounds and connections. Meanwhile, discussions on enhancing job security and legal frameworks for immigrants are likely to be revived in light of this incident.
