A volleyball coach was arrested for allegedly molesting a male student-athlete during the Batang Pinoy-Philippine National Youth Games 2025 in General Santos City. The Grade 12 athlete accused the women's volleyball head coach of inappropriate conduct while he was asleep, an incident corroborated by another student witness from a different school in San Fernando, La Union.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 1:00 AM on October 25, when the students were resting in a classroom used as a billeting area. According to the accounts given to the police, the coach allegedly lowered the boxer shorts of the victim and performed sexual acts. The witness, who observed the event, stated that the coach even smiled and continued despite being seen.

Upon learning of the incident, the embarrassed victim reported it to the authorities, with support from the witness. The police arrested the coach following a meeting, ensuring he underwent medical examination before being detained at the male custodial facility of the police station.

The coach is now facing charges of Acts of Lasciviousness under the Republic Act 7610, which provides special protection for children against abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.
