August 16, 200718 yr Does anyone know the English name for this vegetable? A colleague suggested it was a type of morning glory but FG does not agree. They are (Allium tuberosum) or Chinese Chives, also refered to as Garlig Chives or flat Chives. straight from the book. Wee Jimmy.
August 16, 200718 yr In Thai we call it as ดอกกุยช่าย (Dok Gui Chai) or ดอกไม้กวาด (Dok Mai Gwad) English name : CHINESE CHIVES FLOWER Scientific name: Allium tuberosum Description: There are two varieties of Chinese chive, one with edible flower, the other with edible leaves. The flowers are white and flowers stalks are round and long. Both the leaves and the flower have strong aroma. The stems grow in cluster. The leaves are mostly used in cooking and it is nutritious.
