A 56-year-old man in Chaiyaphum province was fatally stabbed by his wife after attacking her during a violent quarrel at their home. Police said the incident occurred on the evening of 3 November 2025 in Ban Sam Lak Phatthana village, Ta Noen subdistrict, Noen Sa-nga district. The wife, aged 54, told officers she acted in fear and anger after suffering repeated domestic abuse.

Pol Lt Chainanarong Noiwan, an investigator with Noen Sa-nga Police Station, received the report and arrived at the scene with a forensic team, a doctor and rescue workers. They found the husband, Mr. Theeratat, lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. He had sustained stab wounds to his back and neck. Nearby, police discovered a bloodstained fruit knife and a broken plastic chair believed to have been used in the attack.

Standing beside the body in tears was his wife, Ms. Amornrat, who immediately admitted to the stabbing. She recounted that her husband had recently returned from working abroad about three to four months earlier, but since then the couple had argued frequently, especially when he was intoxicated. According to her statement, he often became verbally abusive and physically violent after drinking.

On the evening of the incident, Ms. Amornrat said her husband was heavily drunk when another argument erupted. During the altercation, he allegedly grabbed a plastic chair and struck her. Fearing for her safety and overwhelmed by rage, she picked up a nearby fruit knife and stabbed him several times. He collapsed and died at the scene before help could arrive.

Police confirmed that the killing appeared to be the result of a sudden outburst rather than a premeditated act. Forensic officers collected evidence from the kitchen and the body was sent to hospital for a post-mortem examination. Ms. Amornrat was taken into custody for further questioning and legal proceedings at Noen Sa-nga Police Station.

Authorities said the case underscores the continuing problem of domestic violence, particularly incidents triggered by alcohol abuse and urged the public to seek help before conflicts escalate.
