Thailand has begun returning Indian nationals detained for illegal entry after fleeing the collapse of KK Park in Myanmar, a centre linked to online scams. On 6 November, officials in Tak province coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Bangkok to repatriate the first group of 270 people, including 26 women and 244 men. Authorities plan to complete the return of all 465 Indian nationals by 10 November.

The repatriation was organised by the Frontline Border Command Centre with support from multiple Thai agencies, including the Naresuan Task Force, Immigration Bureau, Mae Sot Police and Border Patrol Police. Detainees had been held at the Tak Immigration Detention Centre in Mae Sot’s Tha Sai Luat subdistrict. The operation used two pickup trucks for luggage and three buses, to transport the group to Mae Sot International Airport.

The first flight, an Indian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules (registration IFC1465), landed at 09.10 and departed at 11.20. The second flight arrived at 11.35 and left at 12.55, each carrying 135 passengers. The remaining 195 Indian nationals are scheduled to be repatriated on 10 November. Other countries with nationals detained after the KK Park incident have also begun coordinating similar returns.

Pol Lt Gen Phanumas Boonyaluck, Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, directed regional and provincial immigration offices to process foreign nationals who have completed their sentences under Thai law for return to their home countries. Officials emphasised that all procedures must comply strictly with legal and regulatory frameworks.

According to the Immigration Bureau, 622 foreign nationals who have completed prison terms are now held in Tak pending deportation. Senior officers, including Pol Maj Gen Sarawut Khonyai, Commander of Immigration Division 5, and local officials such as Acting Tak Governor Suwanit Suriyakorn Na Ayutthaya, oversaw the handover process alongside the Indian military and embassy representatives.

Authorities confirmed that all 270 Indian nationals repatriated had been charged and convicted of illegal entry into Thailand. Screening under the National Referral Mechanism found no evidence that any were victims of human trafficking. Thai immigration officials are continuing background checks and interviews to assess potential security risks. Those deemed a threat to public safety or national security will be placed on a blacklist, preventing their re-entry into Thailand.

Should that not be the job of the Indian Gov to take back their people?

So basically, they went to become scammers willingly. I do hope India welcomes them back with handcuffs and prison sentences.

And still Thailand brag about how many Indians coming.Sleeping on the beach etc etc

Same brag about Russians even their mostly criminals.

Interesting comments, accepting a country deporting illegal aliens,  Hmm, deporting illegal aliens, sounds like a familiar concept elsewhere in the world, but, different opinions of prevail.

Go figure, wonder why :coffee1:

I am getting what I believe to be scam calls here in the U.S. of A., from people with an Indian continent accent.  They are in a call center, I can hear other voices in the background talking, sometimes I hear a voice in the back ground asking the same question my caller asks.   They always ask, are you the owner of the house.   If I say no, they immediately hang up.
