Trump org requested record number of foreign workers in 2025

Featured Replies

The company sought to hire workers through H-2A and H-2B visas for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, two golf clubs and at Trump Vineyard Estates in Charlottesville, Va., according to data from the Department of Labor.

For the H-2A and H-2B visa programs, businesses need the Department of Labor’s approval before petitioning the Department of Homeland Security. After that, the Department of State issues the visas.

According to AI it costs between $1000 and $2500 to hire H-2A workers (agricultural) and $2500 to $4000 for H-2B workers.

Trump has just raised the free for hiring new H-1B workers to $100,000.

Funny no mention of the H4 visa, which only costs a couple of hundred dollars and allows the spouses and children of H1Bs to work and hold jobs in the US of any nature. So one H1B could and usually does mean at least one job or more going to an alien (usually from India) through the backdoor. Then, there is the L1 visa which is an even bigger loophole than the H1B.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about that. That said, according to the government web page that deals with this, it's only the spouse who can work. Not the children.

You are eligible if you are the H-4 dependent spouse of an H-1B nonimmigrant if your H-1B nonimmigrant spouse:

  • Is the principal beneficiary of an approved Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers; or
  • Has been granted H-1B status under sections 106(a) and (b) of AC21. Under AC21, H-1B nonimmigrants seeking employment-based lawful permanent residence may be eligible to work and remain in the United States beyond the six-year H-1B period of admission limitation.

Trump is full of <deleted>.

But American - but his products are made in Mexico.

And employ American workers - but Trump wants cheap migrant workers.

And the thing is, workers in the US on these visas don't have a right to look for employment elsewhere. Which means they're tied to relatively sh***y wages. Which depresses wages for that sector of the economy and makes the situation that much worse of Americans looking for a living wage.
