We finally agree about something - 5 zip - unless rain stops play and/or Joe Root and Ben Stokes have a great match or two.  Likewise, unless Woods and Archer can break through the Aussie top 5/6 they

  • Almost 2 innings in a day an entertaining day of cricket with a good display of fast bowling on a fast and bouncy pitch, Starc's best 7-58, impressive, anything to do with the fact it is a drop-in- pi

  • Aussie tragic here...   The Poms bowling on day 1 was fantastic... sets us up for a good close (i hope) series

Really could end up 5 - 0 at this rate.

Yeah.  It's not really a contest.  All joking aside, as someone who watches a bit of cricket, I'd much rather England got better.  Some semi-recent Eng v Aus Tests really have been very good.  Aus v Eng generally have not.  Of course each side wants to win, but even the most partisan of fans would want a close match (then win of course).

It would be nice if it just ran to a full 4 days, TV and the organizers would like that, but can not see that.

The Ozy bowlers have been too good, England's batters have been a bit better, bowlers not so, Archer the best of the bunch, England  have to bat last on a pitch that is not not doing a lot.

Aussies calling for Snicko to be sacked, with two mistakes .

All over

Poms hopeless

Well, England got one back, played well.

But done in two days, again on a pitch with 10mm of grass on a bowler's pitch, seems the pitch was the problem,  the biggest losers are Cricket Australia, radio said they are down 10 million dollars, due to a two-day game, again.

Tomorrow there is a news conference at the MCG , with MCG staff and Cricket Australia.

Next Sydney.

Disgraceful pitch.
