A vendor at Chatuchak's Red Building market in Bangkok has been immediately terminated following a viral confrontation with a customer. The incident, documented by the aggrieved customer, occurred on November 16 and swiftly garnered over five million views online, prompting negative reactions. The customer reported that while browsing, a vendor rudely told her, "You'd be smarter if you asked first," when she picked up a metal box to show her child, despite not seeing any “Do not touch” signs.

The confrontation escalated when the vendor allegedly disparaged the customer to neighboring stalls, claiming she had mishandled the box. The customer asserted that the vendor's comment, “If you have no money, don't come here and touch things,” was dismissive and not just playful teasing as the vendor later suggested. Public backlash ensued as other customers shared similar negative experiences, amplifying the incident's impact.

On Tuesday, Red Building Vintage Chatuchak announced that after discussions with the involved vendor, both parties mutually agreed to terminate the vendor's lease immediately. The market management issued an apology and expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Looking forward, Red Building Vintage Chatuchak aims to reinforce positive interactions within the market by reviewing its vendor guidelines and enhancing customer service training. This move intends to prevent future incidents and restore shopper confidence. Additionally, management is focusing on actively monitoring vendor conduct to ensure a respectful shopping atmosphere, reported Bangkok Post.

Well, the vendor was clearly a bit of an R-sole, but that probably stems from previous experience of people damaging/soiling goods through picking it up or inappropriate tactile contact with it, then not buying anything... or even theft.

Also, looks like grandma was just spoiling "Little Billy" with a "look at us" routine, as they do, but no need to give unbought gear to a child to play with for a moment or two, just to satisfy the doting spoilt brat BS you see here... she either buys it or not, and it's not as if Little Billy is going to give her input or a critique on the suitability of a purchase decision. Just grandma indulging a brat.

Looks like six or one and half a dozen of the other on this one to me... also depends on how valuable the item was, I guess. But, as usual, Thai social media errupts in indignation at the slightest thing... so normal outcome.

Some women, once they are no longer sexually desired, turn into very vile persons. Nobody can be as vile as a woman after menopause.
