Immigration officers in Pattaya arrested a 46-year-old South Korean man after raiding a condominium in Jomtien on 20 November 2025, uncovering alleged drug use, the hiring of an entertainment girl and online gambling activities. The suspect, identified as Kim Jin-jong, was reportedly found playing online gambling sites and watching pornographic material when officers entered the room. Officers seized four bags of crystal methamphetamine weighing a total of 4 grams, along with several drug-taking implements scattered across the residence.

The operation formed part of an ongoing crackdown by Chonburi Immigration targeting foreign nationals involved in criminal activity in Pattaya’s tourism areas. The action was carried out under the supervision of Pol. Maj. Gen. Songprod Sirisukha, Pol. Col. Napasphong Khositsuriyamoni, Pol. Lt. Col. Kawinwaj Aryasuriwong, and Pol. Lt. Col. Jarit Raosasian. Acting on intelligence reports about drug use and the hiring of an entertainment girl, the investigative team, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Ingkhawat Kriangsinkunyot, Pol. Lt. Col. Phongcharoen Thongphaibun, and Pol. Lt. Capt. Pramot Fueangfung, conducted the targeted search in the Jomtien high-rise.

During questioning, Kim admitted he had bought the crystal methamphetamine for 4,000 baht from a friend, claiming it was intended solely for personal recreational use. A records check revealed he had entered Thailand illegally and was previously blacklisted, with an active prohibition on re-entry already in place. Officers transported him and the seized evidence to the Pattaya Immigration office for processing.

Authorities said the raid supports broader efforts to strengthen tourist confidence by removing foreign offenders from key tourism zones. Officials added that similar enforcement actions would continue as part of a long-term strategy to deter criminal behaviour in Pattaya.

Kim now faces prosecution for drug possession, illegal entry and breaching a blacklist order. Investigators will pursue further inquiries into the source of the narcotics and review his activities while in Thailand. Additional operations are expected as Immigration intensifies its crackdown on foreign criminal networks.

Key Takeaways

• Chonburi Immigration arrested South Korean national Kim Jin-jong, 46, after finding drugs, paraphernalia and online gambling activity in a Jomtien condominium.

• Investigators recovered 4 grams of crystal methamphetamine and confirmed that Kim had been previously blacklisted from Thailand.

• Officials say the raid is part of a wider campaign to curb foreign criminal activity and reinforce safety in Pattaya’s tourism areas.

Blacklisted Korean Arrested Says He Returned to Support Thai Family

A 46-year-old South Korean man has been arrested in Pattaya after immigration police raided a condominium in Bang Lamung district on 20 November 2025, uncovering crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The suspect, identified as Mr. Kim Jin-jong, was detained after officers found 3.79 grams of crystal meth in four zip-lock bags, along with a small digital scale. His arrest has drawn attention due to his claim that he re-entered Thailand illegally to care for his Thai wife and child.

Pol. Col. Napaspong Khositsuriymani, commander of Chonburi Immigration, ordered officers to inspect the location following a tip-off about drug activity. A urine test later confirmed that Kim had used methamphetamine. Immigration officials immediately launched an identity check to verify claims about his background and living circumstances in Pattaya.

Investigations revealed that Kim had crossed into Thailand illegally through a natural border route near Poipet Market in Sa Kaeo province. He had previously been arrested and deported in Thailand due to drug-related offences and was formally blacklisted from re-entering the country. Despite this, authorities say he had been living in Pattaya for around two years before his arrest.

Kim told officers he returned unlawfully because he has a Thai wife and child who depend on him financially. Police have not released further details regarding his family but confirmed that personal circumstances do not exempt individuals from immigration or narcotics laws. Officers noted that such claims will be documented but will not influence the criminal charges he faces.

He has been charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics, drug use, and unauthorized entry and residence in Thailand. Kim has since been transferred to Pattaya City Police Station to begin formal prosecution procedures. Immigration officials said the case highlights persistent challenges in preventing blacklisted individuals from returning through unregulated border crossings.

Authorities are expected to complete their evidence review before forwarding the case to prosecutors. Further investigations may explore whether Kim received assistance in his illegal entry or whether additional charges apply. Police stated that continued monitoring will focus on detecting other blacklisted foreign nationals attempting to return to Thailand.

Key Takeaways

• The arrested South Korean man claimed he illegally re-entered Thailand to support his Thai wife and child.

• Police found 3.79 grams of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the Pattaya raid.

• He faces narcotics and immigration charges and has been transferred for prosecution.

Were his wife and child with him in the condo?  I don't think they would have been comfortable there, alongside the 'entertainment' girl, crystal meth and porn streaming on his laptop. They must have gone out shopping just prior to the raid.
