Jaber al-Attar, a 51-year-old doctor living in northern Gaza, was elated when the news arrived of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, bringing an end to two years of relentless bombardment.

But just four weeks after it was announced, he received a phone call on his way to work at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat to say that his daughter, Maysaa, had been killed by Israeli drone fire as she sheltered in a tent.

“There is absolutely no safety; there is no hope for us to have any security,” he tells The Independent from the same tent in the Al-Atatra area of Beit Lahia, where he is living after being displaced. “I spent my life in hardship and misery.”

Jaber’s daughter is one of at least 406 Palestinians to be killed since the ceasefire came into effect on 10 October, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

During a victory lap speech in the Knesset, US president Donald Trump had promised “peace for all eternity”. But for Gazans, the nightmare has not ended: it is a ceasefire in name only.

In addition to the more than 400 Palestinians who have been killed, the health ministry says that 1,118 have been injured by Israeli shelling and gunfire.

Israel kills at least 5 people across Gaza

The Israeli military carried out further strikes in areas of Gaza beyond its immediate control, in the latest violation of a ceasefire deal brokered by the US in October.

The attacks killed at least three Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy, in and around Khan Younis and injured many more near the Bureij refugee camp, Al Jazeera reported.

Israeli forces also continued to demolish homes and infrastructure across northern and eastern Gaza, including Gaza City neighbourhoods, saying they were targeting militant facilities.

While the world's focus is elsewhere, the terrorist state never miss a chance to kill a few more Gazans and make it more unliveable.

Also, I heard today, they continue to ban foreign journalists. Even an idiot can see they are trying to hide their Genocide.

Who Palestine ?

It's merely just a memory already

An Israeli strike in Gaza on Monday hit a tent housing displaced people, killing a 5-year-old girl and her uncle and wounding two other children, hospital officials said.

The strike took place in the Muwasi area northwest of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, officials at Nasser Hospital said. The Associated Press couldn’t independently very those details. Family members wept over the bodies as they were brought to the hospital.

Earlier on Monday, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that two other bodies had been brought to local hospitals over the past 24 hours. The ministry, part of the Hamas-run government, said that 422 bodies have been brought to hospitals since the ceasefire went into effect on Oct. 10. The ministry maintains detailed casualty records that are seen as generally reliable by U.N. agencies and independent experts.

CAIRO/DUBAI, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Israeli forces killed at least four Palestinians in two separate strikes in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, hours after the military said it had hit the site of a failed militant rocket launch, the latest violence to jeopardise the ceasefire.

Medics said an Israeli airstrike killed at least three people and wounded three others, including children, in a tent in the western area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Another strike killed a person east of the city, near where Israeli forces operate.

There was no immediate Israeli comment on the death reports.

Earlier, the military said it had struck a launch site shortly after the firing of a rocket that had failed to reach Israeli territory. It accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire twice in the past 24 hours. A source from the Palestinian militant group told Reuters it was checking the allegation.

A Hamas official told Reuters on Thursday the group had documented more than 1,100 Israeli violations of the ceasefire since October and had urged mediators to intervene. The violations include killings, injuries, artillery and aerial strikes, home demolitions and detention of people, he said.

Hamas has refused to disarm and has been reasserting its control. Israel has said it will resume military action if Hamas is not disarmed peacefully.

No, daughter.

He is a 51 year old doctor and his 32 year old daughter - nobody said child - was murdered by the brave soldiers of the IDF to defend Israel in a time when they were not supposed to shoot.

Maybe her tent was on one of those blurred yellow lines the IDF keeps talking about yet nobody has ever seen.

Gaza's civil defence agency said Israeli attacks in the Palestinian territory on Thursday killed at least 13 people, including five children, despite a ceasefire that has largely halted the fighting.

Four people including three children were killed when a drone struck a tent sheltering displaced people in southern Gaza, agency spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP.

In the north of the Gaza Strip, an 11-year-old girl was killed near the Jabalia refugee camp and a strike on a school killed one person, while a drone near Khan Yunis in the south killed a man, the agency added.

When asked by AFP, the Israeli military said it was checking the reports.

Israeli strikes kill at least 13 in Gaza, including children, civil defence says

CAIRO, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Israeli fire killed at least three Palestinians in two separate incidents across the enclave, local health authorities said, as tension rises over continued violence since an October ceasefire.

Medics said one Palestinian was killed in the Tuffah neighbourhood in Gaza City, in an area under Palestinian control, while two others were killed in southern Gaza in the town of Bani Suhaila east of Khan Younis, an area Israel still occupies.

The Israeli military said forces fired at a "terrorist" who crossed into the area under their control in the northern Gaza Strip, posing an immediate threat.

In the southern Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said it killed another "terrorist" in an airstrike after he approached troops operating in the area, posing an immediate threat.

Thats like in the USA when two 20 year olds shoot each other in the hood, it goes down as child deaths LOL

GENEVA, Jan 13 (Reuters) - The U.N. children's agency said on Tuesday that over 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the October ceasefire, including victims of drone and quadcopter attacks.

“More than 100 children have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire of early October," UNICEF spokesperson James Elder told reporters at a U.N. briefing by video link from Gaza.

"Survival remains conditional, whilst the bombings and the shootings have slowed, have reduced during the ceasefire, they have not stopped."

He said that nearly all the deaths of the 60 boys and 40 girls were from military attacks including air strikes, drone strikes, tank shelling, gunfire and quadcopters and a few were from war remnants that exploded.

The tally is likely an underestimate since it is only based on deaths for which sufficient information was available, he said.

Unicef has as much integrity and reliability as a pimp.

And yet it remains silent as 2,400 are murdered, and 18,000 held captive by the blood thirsty Iranian regime over the past month. Perhaps this is due to Iran's prominence as a member of the UN Human Rights Council and Rapporteur of the Disarmament Committee.

The days of Gaza and Hamas monopolizing the news are coming to an end. People are tired of the Hamas propaganda.

Stick to the topic. There are other topics about Iran.

People would be delighted to stop posting sad news from Gaza and the West Bank.

Unfortunately Israel continues to commit atrocities.

Are you denying Israel are continuing to kill innocent children during the ceasefire?

You do call Israel lots of bad names, that is one consequence of their actions

The days of Gaza and Hamas monopolizing the news are coming to an end. People are tired of the Hamas propaganda. The double standard of the Hamas fan club is on display as thousands are slaughtered in Iran. Not one of the Hamas cheerleaders has spoken up or rallied to help the Iranian people. Where is George Clooney or Angela Jolie? Antonio Banderas? At the very least, Greta could organize some aid for the Iranians, but noooooooooooooooo. It's all these sad stories churned out by you and the other members of the anti Israel hate lobby. Little black starving babies in Darfur don't matter.Emaciated kids with scurvy in Yemen don't matter. It's all about promoting the Palestinian pity party. Looks like Gaza got pushed off the front page. They will need to manufacture another crisis to get some attention.

Whataboutism to the extreme cheesy

Pointing to Iran, Yemen, Darfur, or celebrity silence is not a moral argument - it is a diversion.

Suffering elsewhere does not negate suffering in Gaza. Multiple injustices can exist at the same time.

This tactic is used specifically to avoid addressing Israeli actions by changing the subject.

Gaza is a besieged, occupied territory of 2.2 million people, half of whom are children, with no army, no air force, no borders, no freedom of movement.
Iran is a sovereign state of over 85 million people with a standing military, global diplomacy, and internal repression carried out by its own government.

Equating these situations is either ignorance or deliberate distortion.

Collective punishment denial / gaslighting
Calling reporting on Gaza “Hamas propaganda” is a classic gaslighting move:

civilians are framed as responsible for their own deaths

Independent UN agencies, doctors, journalists, and NGOs are dismissed as “the hate lobby”

Reality is reframed so that only one narrative is “allowed”

This is not skepticism - it’s narrative control.

Dehumanisation
Phrases like “Palestinian pity party” and “manufacture another crisis” trivialise mass civilian death and starvation.
This language mirrors how all historical atrocities are justified

"They exaggerate”

"They use children”

“They want attention”

Once victims are mocked, anything becomes acceptable.

Gaza did not “monopolise the news” by accident.
It is:

Under blockade since 2007

Subject to repeated large-scale military assaults

Explicitly described by Israeli officials as being put on a “diet”

Currently experiencing mass civilian death, starvation, and infrastructure annihilation

Coverage follows scale and immediacy, not propaganda.

At least 17 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza, hospitals say.

Israel's military said it happened after "terrorists" opened fire in the north of the Strip, seriously wounding a soldier during an operation near the Yellow Line, which marks territory controlled by Israel under the three-month-old ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City said it had received the bodies of 13 people, including five children, who were killed when tents and homes in the eastern Zeitoun and Tuffah neighbourhoods were hit.

Nasser hospital in Khan Younis said four dead, including one child, were brought there following strikes on tents in the southern Qizan Rashwan area.
