Hotel

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’ll be in Pattaya in February. Only have 3 weeks there so it’s going to be a hotel. I like north Pattaya near Terminal 21 area.
ive looked at 3 hotels. First OZO, I’ve visited friends there, great pool. Clean, food so so.  Dusit Thani I’ve only had a look around years ago.

Probably aging but looks nice.,And Sunshine Garden Resort. The  latter is nearly half the price of the other two.  I like a sunny pool and good breakfast and very clean. I like that area. Any recent experience most welcome. I usually rent a condo in Jomtien but prefer to be nearer and don’t want to bother with moving in for 3 weeks. Thanks very much.

Dusit Thani had a refurb about 5 or 6 years ago. It was reported to have cost the equivalent of a million Baht per room.

Before living here, I used to stay at Sunshine Garden and never had any complaints. I thought the breakfast buffet was first class.

The new Again complex accross the road will soon be complete and has plenty of eating and drinking options, some of which look a bit pricey.

Go further up the hill for less costly food and bar options, many of which moved up there when the Again development started.

Enjoy your stay.

You likely considered this but there are a  fair few options on AirBnB for three weeks and for other ones it may be worthwhile to pay for a month and still be better than hotels.

At that price point, I would look at their sister property, The Green Park Resort. An extra star rating and larger rooms. Under 2.2k per night inclusive of breakfast and taxes.

Used to be my go-to a while back.

I hope they've renovated Green Park Resort in the last 4 years. I stayed there in November 2021 as part of the one night "test and go" scheme. Place was old and tired. By contrast, stayed at Dusit Thani in October 2022 and it was lovely - highly recommended. Great facilities, nice staff and excellent breakfast buffet.

Dusit Thani is double the price, at around 4.4k per night. That's why I mentioned the price point. Since they mentioned Sunshine Garden, Green Park Resort is part of the same group, with nicer grounds. Bar at the pool etc

I’ve never used Airbnb, worried it’s not what it advertises. I like a good breakfast spread when I’m away and of course a great pool, with sunbrellas for a nap.  I swim  an hour a day.

Airbnb can be just as expensive as a hotel especially as he is not staying a month

And..even if you do stay a month in a Airbnb they expect electric bill to be paid

I was paying roughly 1000 baht a night in the Olympus condo for Airbnb

No cleaning etc

Sometimes a hotel is better value as you have room service as in cleaning etc
