A Malaysian man’s extramarital affair was exposed after he and his mistress became stranded in a Hat Yai hotel during severe flooding in Songkhla province. The incident involved a Malaysian bank manager who was trapped with three colleagues as the floods hit the district, preventing them from leaving the hotel. The story gained public attention after a woman named Zara, a friend of the man’s wife, shared the account anonymously on the Threads platform on 24 November.

The flooding in Hat Yai has left many residents and visitors isolated, prompting relatives and friends to seek help for those affected. Zara said her friend had asked her to help locate and rescue the four Malaysian men who were reported stranded in the hotel. She contacted relatives in Thailand to check on them and hotel staff confirmed that the men were staying there, but found that one man was sharing a room with a woman he presented as his wife.

Zara said this discovery revealed the man’s secret relationship, as he was married and had recently welcomed his fourth child with his wife. Relatives in Thailand coordinated with the Malaysian Embassy, which confirmed it was arranging evacuation efforts for Malaysian nationals affected by the flooding. The embassy said those rescued would be able to return home or remain in temporary shelters in Thailand if necessary.

Zara stated she has not informed her friend about the affair due to concerns for her mental health during postpartum recovery. She explained that she planned to first notify her friend’s older sister before discussing the matter directly to avoid causing further distress. She also clarified that she did not reveal the information publicly to her friend but shared the story anonymously to her followers online.

The Thaiger reported it remains unknown whether the wife has since learned of the affair, even as the story continues to spread on social media platforms in both Thailand and Malaysia. The situation has sparked widespread online discussion due to the unusual circumstances under which the affair came to light. Reports also noted a separate case in which another Malaysian man, who told his wife he was travelling to Kuala Lumpur for work, was later found stranded in Hat Yai with his mistress during the same flooding.

Ops, wife sounds like a "temporary wife" – i.e., Nikah Mut'ah – a  marriage can be for a set period, ranging from a few hours to many years...:whistling:
