New Scam in town?

Featured Replies

I was contacted by someone working for one of Temu's delivery services, advising me that my package was damaged and asking me if I would like to return it. This is the second time I've encountered this situation in the past three months.
They sent a photo of the damaged package as 'proof.'  The bag was trashed, with half of it ripped open!  But I told them to go ahead and deliver it to me. They tried several times to convince me to let them return it. I said no.
I've noticed that when asking to return an order with inexpensive items, most often I've been told to just KEEP the damaged goods and Temu replaces them at no charge. I thought I could get enough of my order to continue working while awaiting the replacements. I wonder if the delivery driver thought they could get to keep the items left?
When the package arrived the next day, I could see that an entire side of the softpac had been torn open, but re-sealed with tape. I figured I probably lost half the order. But when I opened that package, despite the fact that there were many, many small items in the order, the shipment was complete!
Question: Where and when, who, and HOW did the package tear open so badly?  And yet all the small parts were accounted for...

Something doesn't feel right.
I'll be interested to see if this happens again with another order.
