Tens of thousands march in show of support for Palestine

Featured Replies

Tens of thousands rallied in Paris on Saturday to show support for Palestinians in Gaza, as protesters accused Israel of violating a fragile US-brokered ceasefire and demanded tougher international action amid soaring death tolls and ongoing restrictions on aid.

Protests were also held in London, Geneva, Rome and Lisbon.

Seven weeks after a ceasefire took effect on October 10, “nothing has been resolved”, said Anne Tuaillon, head of the France Palestine Solidarity Association (AFPS), one of about 80 NGOs, unions and parties behind the call to protest.

“The ceasefire is a smokescreen. Israel violates it every day, blocks humanitarian aid and continues to destroy homes and infrastructure in Gaza. We are calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the genocide,” she told AFP.

Santa Claus being arrested at a pro Palestine march in the UK.

Yet not a peep out of Trump who continues to boast that Gaza is one of the long list of wars that he personally and unilaterally fixed.

If he gets a "deal" (surrender) from Ukraine, he'll take a victory walk and ignore what happens after that too.

Interesting video on Israel.

He claims Israel is turning into a 3rd world country because it is becoming a pariah state with less and less global support. And 1 in 4 Israelis want to flee.

He claims Israelis becoming unwelcome everywhere in the world will only accelerate.

Since 2022, the number of Israelis fleeing increases by 50% every year.

There's a mass exodus. They've had enough.

Posts condemning Israelis as individuals were removed. @JimCM, I've mentioned this to you before: if you want to participate here, please limit your criticism to states and political parties, not to individuals. Israelis are just as welcome as you are in Thailand - and this forum - or anywhere else, and you have no right to suggest otherwise. Thank you.

1 out of 2 French people are considering leaving France

According to an OpinionWay survey for EconomieMatin, 54% of French people aged 18 to 24 are considering leaving France because of the political and economic climate they can no longer stand.

The United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday passed two resolutions directing Israel to withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza as well the Syrian Golan Heights. Both texts were adopted with large majorities opposing Israel's current territorial stance.

The first resolution, "Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine," passed with 151 votes in favor, 11 against and 11 abstentions. The text issues several direct demands on Israel. It orders Israel to end what it calls Israel's "unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory." It demands that Israel halt all new settlement construction and evacuate all settlers from the territory. It also rejects any attempt to alter Gaza's demographics or borders and calls for the enclave's immediate political reunification with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.

The resolution restates that Israel must withdraw from all Palestinian territory occupied since 1967 and reiterates Palestinian rights to self-determination and a just solution for refugees.

A second resolution, "The Syrian Golan," passed with 123 votes in favor, 7 against and 41 abstentions. It declares Israel's 1981 move to apply its laws and administration to the territory null and void, calls for that decision to be reversed, and demands Israel's withdrawal to its 1967 border with Syria.
