As December arrives, the White House is glowing with festive holiday spirit for 2025. Under the holiday theme “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” first lady Melania Trump unveiled an extraordinary holiday makeover throughout the residence. The decorations include dozens of Christmas trees, thousands of lights, and even 10,000 delicate blue butterflies — delivering a warm, whimsical atmosphere.

The official Christmas tree — a Michigan-grown fir from Korson’s Tree Farms — arrived at the North Portico on Nov. 24 and now stands in the historic Blue Room. Because the former East Wing is being demolished to make way for a new ballroom, this year’s decorations are concentrated on a limited route through the State Floor: the Blue Room, Red Room, Green Room, East Room, State Dining Room, Cross Hall, and Entrance

Hall.

Inside, thematic touches reflect both festive cheer and national heritage: the East Room embraces a patriotic red, white, and blue motif to honor next year’s 250th anniversary of the country’s founding. The Green Room brings a playful vibe, featuring whimsical decorations including a Lego portrait displayed among holiday decor. A gingerbread house — weighing in at more than 120 pounds — stands in the State Dining Room as another highlight of this season’s festive setup.

Together, the décor, colors, and design elements echo a message of home, unity, and celebration — blending classic holiday traditions with symbolic American heritage.

Key Takeaways

The 2025 White House holiday theme — “Home Is Where the Heart Is” — features extensive Christmas décor: dozens of trees, 10,000 butterflies, holiday lights, ribbons, garlands, and a 120+ pound gingerbread house.

The official Christmas tree, from Korson’s Tree Farms in Michigan, now stands in the Blue Room, reflecting a longstanding tradition.

Due to East Wing demolition, the 2025 holiday tour is limited to select rooms — Blue Room, Red Room, Green Room, East Room, State Dining Room, Cross Hall, and Entrance Hall — each decorated with unique themes blending festivity and national symbolism.

I like it how the Trump white house still has a Christmas. Nations that have fallen like the UK and Germany have "winter holidays".

Excellent job by Melania, I know she didn't do all this by Herself, but it looks amazing!!:heart_001:

Even more remarkable considering she orchestrated the whole thing by remote control from her apartment in New York!

I make no comment on the 120lb+ sticky bun (sorry I should have said gingerbread house) nor that the traditional icon of the nativity crib, celebrating the birth of the Infant Jesus ( I seem to recall that is fairly central to Christmas) seems to have been supplanted by a lego portrait of The Fragrant Leader!

You are relying on the medias selection of pictures

"Even more remarkable considering she orchestrated the whole thing by remote control from her apartment in New York!"..........Wrong again!:whistling:

She selected every detail, appointing designer Hervé Pierre to implement her vision, which includes 51 trees, 75 wreaths, 10,000+ blue butterflies (tribute to her "Be Best" and "Fostering the Future" initiatives), Lego portraits of Presidents Washington and Trump, and a Gold Star Families-honoring Blue Room tree.

And yes—she was in DC to oversee it. The Trumps returned from Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago on November 30, 2025, just before the December 1 media preview and unveiling (where she released a video tour from the White House).

Okay, so how much did we pay the designer? How much did we pay for the decorations? Waddya bet those figures will never be disclosed.

Having more than one tree is gauche and excessive.

You sound jealous?

She's marginally better than he but she's still a grifter following the scent of money. She'll probably be buried around the 9th hole, after Stormy Daniels.
