Terror Fury As 170 Dangerous Foreign Extremists Still In UK

The Home Office was engulfed in outrage last night after admitting 170 foreign nationals deemed dangerous to national security are still living in Britain under tight restrictions — because human-rights rules won’t allow their deportation.

More than half of the group have links to terrorism or extremist activity, yet they remain on UK soil, some under 24/7 surveillance, curfews, ankle tags, internet bans and strict movement controls. Critics blasted the revelation as proof the system has become a “criminal’s charter for the very worst people in our society.”

A Government Equality Impact Assessment quietly published last week confirmed the staggering figure, warning that foreign nationals who pose a threat but cannot legally be removed must be placed on “restricted leave” — a status that can include bans on work, study, or phone usage.

A furious Home Office minister branded the situation “disgraceful,” insisting newly passed Border Security laws would allow police, MI5 and immigration teams to track suspects “every minute of the day” while Labour attempts “rapid” deportations.

But critics say nothing less than a complete overhaul of human-rights law will fix the mess.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has pledged reforms to stop dangerous offenders blocking deportation by invoking the “right to family life,” with family now narrowly redefined as “parents and their children.” Judges will also be ordered to put public safety above Article 8 protections.

Labour will join European allies in attempting to renegotiate Article 3 — freedom from torture and persecution — amid claims it is being abused to stall removals.

But the revelations triggered explosive demands for action far beyond Labour’s plans.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage renewed his call to leave the ECHR entirely, saying Britain’s enemies were exploiting laws written “for a different era.” The Conservatives echoed the fury, declaring the UK’s “broken borders” a national security emergency.

Suella Braverman went further, warning that human-rights rules have become an “open goal for the enemies of Britain”, allowing extremists to game the system while the public is left at risk.

The Border Security Bill includes permanent settlement bans for national-security threats, expanded electronic tagging powers, and curfews for anyone with restricted leave — but critics last night insisted the measures still fall far short as long as foreign terror suspects remain un-deportable and inside the country.

Key Takeaways

  • 170 dangerous foreign nationals — over half linked to terrorism — remain in Britain because human-rights laws block their deportation.

  • Labour vows tougher tracking and stricter rules, but critics demand Britain quit the ECHR to stop extremists gaming the system.

  • Senior figures warn human-rights loopholes have turned into a “criminal’s charter,” leaving national security at growing risk.

Odd really, give the ECHR has only halted 13 deportations since 1980.

Maybe the unapologetic racist and antisemite Farage is baselessly stoking outrage…. Again.

”Since 1980, the European Court of Human Rights has found against the UK in only 13 removal cases, and just four of those concerned family life. In relation to immigration rules more broadly, the Court has only three times ruled that the UK’s immigration rules violate the ECHR in the past 45 years.”

Britbongs would rather put a person in jail for a conservative fb comment than deport a dangerous immigrant. Same story in Europe - it's so over for the West.

Is Sharia law inevitable?

Not really odd, Starmer wrote their handbook, so he isn't going to act against it.

It's bit like Brexit, they didn't want to do it, so they delayed and delayed, and watered it down .......

So what would the 'full-strength' Brexit have looked like?

I'll assume that's the usual, 'I don't know'.

On the off-chance that you are serious, please seek professional help asap.

Hogwash.

The UK did play a pivotal role in the writing of the European Convention on Human Rights and a leading role in the establishment of the ECHR.

But that was back in the days of Churchill and the UK’s post WW2 Governments.

A contribution the UK is justly proud of.

Nothing at all to do with Starmer.
